The Data & AI division is part of the Visa s technology organization. The division is responsible for providing Data & AI Platform services and value-added data products to our clients and for internal use. The client access to these services is enabled through a set of Data API, BI and Analytics products, Custom applications, and Data Visualization. The Business Intelligence and Analytics group which is part of the Data Product Development division that develop and leads various BI and Analytics products and services.

Essential Functions

Seeking a Staff UI/UX Engineer to provide UI & Data Visualization component development and prototyping of customer facing applications for web/mobile. An Engineer who can develop and implement excellent design that has the ability to engage and inspire users and strive to rethink and redefine how users interact with our applications and products. Responsibilities

• Work with Product Owners and Developers to build UI & Data Visualization applications
• Own the UI component development and set overall architecture and define coding and reviewing standard
• Design and implement well-tested code, both independently and with teammates
• Continuously learn and evaluate new UI/Visualization technology & frameworks and apply them to the applications
• Ability to develop high fidelity prototype and wireframes
• Demo progress on results

Basic Qualifications :

• 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications :

• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
• Bachelor/Master s degree in CS, MIS, UX or equivalent experience
• Solid experience in implementing Visualization, Web application using HTML5, CSS3, Compass, WebGL and JavaScript
• Experience in implementing mockups from designers/style guides (Using Sketch, InVision etc.)
• Solid experience in modern web frameworks such as Node.js, AngularJS, ReactJS, D3, Backbone JS, Knockout JS and jQuery
• Experience with Python, Ruby, Promises, REST, npm, Grunt
• Experience with APIs for data access
• Strong knowledge of CSS (Less, Sass, Bootstrap).
• Experience with analytical tools like Tableau is a plus
• Experience in developing visualization that access real-time data
• Web Standards and Accessibility Best Practices
• Adaptable Design Principles and experience writing CSS media queries
• Ability to express well-thought-out opinions about product.
• Familiar with continuous integration and deployment concepts.
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
