We are looking for a Staff UX Researcher to play an important role in helping us tackle our users' most pressing challenges and uncover their unmet needs. In this role, you will play a key part in helping define and mature the practice of UX Research at Reverb, while driving and executing research for the product squads with whom you collaborate. The insights you uncover while engaging with customers, internal users and partners will fuel the product team's passion for the problems they are solving. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Design and UX Research. We are open to remote hires within multiple states as well as candidates local to Chicago, IL [who are comfortable traveling to an office at least 2 days per week]. In this role you will:
Assist in defining and conducting the research plan for Reverb’s product suite
Build partnerships with product, engineering, marketing and other teams in order to understand business priorities which inform research opportunities
Work with product managers, product designers, engineers and analysts across product squads to generate rich, impactful insights
Help define and adhere to research metrics in order to measure and validate a user’s experience with Reverb
Help teams build the context needed for crafting new solutions
Own all aspects of research strategy and project planning for your squads, including defining audiences, identifying the appropriate research methods, recruiting users and scheduling research sessions
Synthesize research results and communicate findings in compelling ways that inspire teams and help product squads build confidence in their direction
Evangelize the impact of UX research and help cultivate a more informed, engaged, and empathetic organization
Ideally you'll bring:
At least 8 years of experience conducting UX research on digital products or services, and a track record of collaborating with product teams to plan and execute research studies
Understanding of common generative and evaluative research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process
Experience in thinking critically about user feedback in order to arrive at recommendations that deliver user-focused outcomes for the team
Experience and interest in effectively creating and presenting narrative driven write ups with clear and compelling recommendations
Naturally inquisitive, positive demeanor, empathy for users, and proven active listening skills
