At Databricks, our mission as designers is to make data science simpler and more accessible so that more people can contribute to solving the world's toughest problems. Product Designers at Databricks balance the creativity of a craftsperson with the curiosity of a data scientist. We believe in the traditional and timeless value of great design - while at the same time, we have a restless desire to get to the truth and make the best decisions possible using data. We design simple and collaborative products that have the power to delight a highly technical audience.

The impact you will have:

  • You will work closely with product management, engineering, and other key leadership to lead a wide range of data science products across Databricks
  • You will gain a deep understanding of Databricks business objectives, users, market opportunities, and competition. You will become well-versed on the Databricks product and its personas (Data scientists, data engineers, and administrators)
  • You will empower data engineers to build their data pipelines and manage their workloads using intuitive, modern, and beautiful experiences.
  • You will lead system-wide and company-wide product design initiatives that are user-centered, measurable, and drive business results
  • Seek & provide design feedback and collaboratively improve the design process

What we look for:

  • Track record working on large and complex design projects and balance the needs of diverse stakeholders
  • Can execute beautiful visual and interaction work that's rooted in a data-driven, and well researched UX process
  • A system thinker who has the vision to design the big picture, and the tactical ability to break it down so that your team can build it incrementally
  • A storyteller who provides insights about people and behavior – both verbally and visually
  • You can moderate design workshops and educate your peers on the value of design
  • You value collaboration and enjoy communicating your vision and thought processes
  • A portfolio demonstrating your end-to-end design process, from inception to production
  • You have experience designing enterprise software, services, or other complex systems
