We’re looking for an experienced Quantitative Product Researcher to build and advance our quantitative product/UX research capabilities and to lead quantitative product/UX research for one of our key business divisions. As a member of our growing Product Research department, you’ll have a hand in shaping the role of Product Research at Credit Karma, driving partnerships with other quantitative insights functions, and championing a member-centric approach to our products, business, and culture. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys forward-looking intrapreneurial roles, but who is also seeking the stability of a seasoned management team.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead building and advancement of quantitative product and UX research capacities at Credit Karma for a key strategic business division.
  • Lead quantitative product research projects end-to-end, including planning, design, analysis, communication, and application of generative, formative, and post-launch evaluative research.
  • Establish and oversee survey design and analysis best practices, toolkits, and templates for Credit Karma’s Product Research Team. Mentor other product researchers in quantitative product research methods, statistical analysis, and communication.
  • Develop and expand partnerships with quantitative insights functions such as analytics, data science, and market research. Collaborate closely with product research, market research, analytics, and data science to leverage and build upon quantitative and qualitative knowledge.
  • Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways, tailoring presentations to suit the audience. Package insights into visualizations, tools, and assets for product design, product management, content design, analytics, data science, engineering, and marketing to integrate into roadmaps.
  • Drive leadership buy in and support by regularly meeting, presenting insights, connecting to business outcomes, and quantifying both Member and business value.
  • Support project team members in transforming research insights into innovative solutions that inform both Member and business problems and that deliver measurable outcomes.

What’s great about this opportunity:

  • What we’re doing as a company is ambitious and feels good: we’re offering free tools to people that help them improve their financial lives. And what we’re doing as a team is fundamental to the company’s success.
  • We’re a relatively new function within the company and we’re investing in our quantitative product research capabilities, so the landscape is wide open in terms of defining the best ways to work and ways to influence product definition and Member outcomes.
  • You’ll be establishing many of the quantitative product research best practices and processes to make this team successful.
  • You’ll own research not just for the team’s current products that you’re responsible for, but the broader future that these experiences could help people achieve as well

Minimum basic requirements:

  • Strong understanding of quantitative product research methodologies and inferential statistics (e.g., hypothesis testing, survey sampling and design, statistical significance testing, regression modeling, longitudinal analysis, clustering, behavioral data analysis, experimental design, analysis of quasi-experimental designs with non-equivalent groups)
  • Experience working with diverse datasets-large and small, structured and unstructured, self-reported and behavioral. Ability to pair survey data with behavioral analytics.
  • 7+ years of in-house experience in quantitative product research, user experience research, or an applied research setting working with cross-functional partners (e.g., product management, design, data science, analytics, engineering, marketing, business)
  • Strong ability to synthesize and communicate ideas visually, verbally, and in writing. Experience presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Must have experience with Qualtrics survey platform.
  • Statistical data analysis and visualization experience in R, SPSS, Python, Tableau or other analysis software. Proficiency with advanced queries in SQL to pull and join data.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, build, mentor, and guide a team toward success.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, and experience identifying, planning, and solving for operational needs (budget, tools, cadences, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Some experience with qualitative product research methods (eg 1:1 interviews, diary studies) in addition to quantitative product research methods.
  • Bonus: domain expertise in fintech, credit cards, loans, shopping.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required and a Master’s or PhD degree is a bonus. A degree in Human-Computer Interaction, MBA, Psychology, Statistics, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Economics, Anthropology, Sociology, Communications, Information Science, Design, or a related field is considered an advantage.
