What’s the role?

The Product Marketing team at Etsy drives high value actions that enable customer growth and loyalty by developing the story and go-to-market strategy for what we’re building. The Seller Experience team at Etsy is committed to giving sellers more agency in their success, providing them with the tools and insights they need to market their shops and improve their listings to grow their sales on Etsy.

As Seller Experience Staff Product Marketing Manager, you’ll lead go-to-market strategies that support seller growth experiences that enable and empower sellers to better connect, market, and grow their businesses on Etsy. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that we provide excellent seller tools, features, and programs, accompanied by robust education and resources, to drive engagement and product adoption. You’ll be working with a team to innovate and contribute meaningfully to our long term vision of creating a world-class Etsy selling platform.

We’re looking for someone who is an excellent collaborator and communicator, is passionate about small business owners and delivering an experience that sellers on Etsy will love, and who has deep expertise with B2B products and technologies.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Global Head of Product Marketing and the base salary range will be 146,000-190,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.  For this role, we are considering candidates based in the US who are either remote, flex, or office-based. What’s this team like at Etsy?

  • Product Marketing partners closely and constantly with cross-functional partners in product management, research, design, analytics, brand, and within marketing. 
  • You’ll be working closely with partners to create seller tools and programs and to define seller strategies. You’ll need to determine the best market fit and positioning for seller products and features, and bring them to market in a way that clearly communicates and builds excitement about Etsy.
  • You’ll lead competitive analyses to assess market fit and build strategies & positioning from data and insights. 
  • Join a team that is passionate about connecting buyers and sellers and ensuring that they love to buy and sell on Etsy. 

What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Serve as a key collaborator between the Seller Experience Product and Marketing organizations.
  • Create go-to-market strategies that define the target seller audience, include clear positioning statements that articulate and communicate Etsy’s unique value proposition for sellers, and include the right cross-channel mix to educate and engage sellers and drive adoption of our tools and features.
  • Develop and align on-site and off-site marketing plans to communicate new seller features and experiences in collaboration with channel owners and the broader Marketing team.
  • Work closely with Analytics to set clear, measurable goals and track progress against them - making continuous recommendations for how we can improve.  
  • Share your work with peers and leadership for feedback and iteration.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • 5+ years of marketing, brand, product marketing, and/or consulting experience, preferably at a tech company or a two-sided marketplace.
  • Strong understanding of the e-commerce landscape and experience working with products at a tech company. Bonus if experience with B2B marketing! 
  • Experience using data to inform strategies and tell a strong narrative.
  • Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams while maintaining great relationships.
  • Creative with a passion for solving complex problems.
  • Experience distilling complex concepts into customer-facing messages.
  • Track record of driving strong growth and results through marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Thrive in an independent, high energy environment where tasks, priorities, and projects change rapidly.
  • Love market research! You know your market, customers, and competition better than anyone, and you’re strong at integrating this information into your growth strategies.
  • Passionate about Etsy’s mission and are brimming with ideas on how we could do it better.
