What’s this team like at Etsy?

The Payments Regulation team is a critical group responsible for ensuring all of our marketplace's payments activity is aligned with regulatory obligations, focused on tax regulation, payments compliance and the movement of funds. We have two squads focusing on following payments and tax obligations in a customer-centric way, allowing sellers to focus on their craft and their business and buyers to purchase that unique one of a kind something on Etsy. We collaborate with internal and external partners for our compliance products.

What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Partner with engineering, analytics, design, and other teams (payments or other compliance teams) to define and prioritize the highest impact projects.
  • Develop, own, and nurture the payments compliance strategy and roadmap, prioritizing work thoughtfully and communicating commitments and updates to partners on an ongoing cadence.
  • Drive the squad's execution by collaborating closely with engineering and analytics partners, having ownership over the performance and measurement of the team’s product and operational experiences, including impact to the business and our customers.
  • Integrate analysis and customer feedback into product requirements to ensure products satisfy customer needs, as well as wants.
  • Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

  • Inspiring, engaging and clear communication styles; optimistic and forward-looking.
  • Natural collaborator who knows how to drive decision-making with Engineering, Product Design, and analytics.
  • A passionate member of the Etsy community and someone who believes in Etsy’s vision, mission and values!
