We are open to hiring this position in San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA
Our mission at Databricks is to radically simplify the data lifecycle from ingestion, ETL and BI to ML/AI with a unified platform. In this effort, we are replacing the traditional data warehouse architecture with a new architectural pattern, Lakehouse (CIDR 2021 paper), an open platform that unifies data warehousing, advanced analytics, and AI. The Lakehouse architecture addresses several major challenges, including data staleness, reliability, total cost of ownership, data lock-in, and limited use-case support. Delta Lake is at the core of this architecture enabling these differentiators.
As a Product Manager on the Delta team, you will be responsible for defining and driving the vision of the fundamental pilar of the open Lakehouse. You will be focused on understanding the needs of not just data engineers and SQL analysts but also ML practitioners and Data Scientists. Customers want a production ready and highly reliable managed service that just works “out of the box.” You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of how to store and process data efficiently and quickly. You would be responsible for understanding the needs, identifying the use cases, distilling the requirements, making a case to get features funded, bringing them to market, and post-GA adoption activities. Databricks have assembled a world-class engineering team to build the open Lakehouse on Delta Lake. As a PM, your goal is to help guide and lead this team in achieving this mission. You would be responsible for several first-to-market efforts and direct revenue-generating product lines that will define the future of the lakehouse.
