Staff Product Manager, Core job at Material

As a Staff Product Manager for Core Technology at Material Security, you’ll work closely with engineering to define and deliver the team’s roadmap. You’ll need to balance investing in long-term performance, reliability, smart resource consumption, and enabling efficient development by other engineering teams. You’ll set direction by working directly with other Material teams, leadership (including the founders), and Material’s customers. Your mission is to deliver massive customer and business value by shipping the right platform at the right time.

The Core Technology team is responsible for solving Material’s trickiest technical challenges and architecting the platform that Material’s product is built upon. The capabilities this team creates directly enable Material’s customers and other Material engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Lead a cross-functional team of engineering and design to ship product experiences that customers love.
Thoughtfully prioritize to maximize the impact of engineering effort.
Stay hands-on with customers, both internal and external, to keep them happy today, while gaining insight for future ideas.
Generate and shepherd creative ideas, both large and small, that bring value to customers and the business.
Bring curiosity, positivity, and an entrepreneurial approach to each day.

Technical Acumen: Material product managers work closely with engineering to understand technical tradeoffs and their impact on the product. Being comfortable in the code is a plus, but not required.

The projected compensation range for this position is $174,250 to $276,100. The projected salary range is just one component of Material Security’s total compensation package for employees.
