What’s the role?

We are looking for a highly experienced consumer product manager to help Etsy buyers find and purchase the perfect item.

This Staff Product Manager will be responsible for developing a strategy and roadmap of features to make it easier than ever for buyers to shop on Etsy. As the product lead for your squad, you’ll be partnered with a designer, engineering manager, analyst, and researcher to learn from customer problems and build creative, data-driven solutions that set Etsy apart. This is a full-time position reporting to the Group Product Manager, BuyerX Compare and the base salary range will be 172,000.00 - 224,000.00 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. 

For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. We help nearly 89 million customers find relevant items and evaluate Etsy's vast inventory, make confident purchase decisions, and return to Etsy more often! With billions of items offered by 7.5 million sellers, our team brings value to buyers, sellers, and Etsy by balancing data, qualitative research, and experimentation with e-commerce best methodologies to solve exciting challenges posed by operating at scale.

What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Craft a vision, define a roadmap, and prioritize product features via opportunity sizing, experimentation, and continuous iteration
  • Partner closely with outstanding designers, engineers, user researchers, and data scientists to identify customer problems, explore potential solutions, and test hypotheses to ultimately build products that help Etsy shoppers find just what they’re looking for
  • Define OKRs and manage progress against them, communicate plans and updates to cross-functional partners and leadership, and drive the execution and delivery of our team's goals
  • Own and define/refine the metrics of your team’s products, including impact to our business and our customers
  • Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Qualifications

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • Experienced in defining product strategies and roadmaps - from inception to launch - in a fast-paced environment with a cross-functional team, and a curiosity for solving challenges in the buyer space
  • A love for harnessing quantitative and qualitative data to tackle challenging problems and experience in running A/B tests
  • You’re a great communicator, both in writing and orally, and a phenomenal listener.
  • Skilled at establishing relationships with design, engineering and other team members by developing empathy and trust and influencing without authority.
  • Proficient in SQL/BigQuery. (preferred)
