Team description: App Ads

The Reddit Ads team is poised to innovate and grow rapidly like never before. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing team that will shape how we monetize the Reddit platform and help connect Redditors with brands they love.

We are building advertising solutions for app developers and app-enabled businesses to help them reach, engage, and acquire users through app install ads, in-app engagement optimization, app re-engagement, and other mobile-focused ad products.

Role description:

We are seeking a vertical end-to-end product owner of our App Promotion Advertising efforts. This is one of our fastest growing business lines and this role will be critical in shaping and driving the success of the app promotion on Reddit’s platform. You will develop the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the area. You will work closely with all teams across the ads platform (examples: measurement, reporting, ads manager, optimization, prediction, reporting, auction, etc.) to build solutions that help app advertisers succeed.  Furthermore, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, data science, sales, marketing, and external partners to build world-class products that deliver value for both advertisers and Reddit users.

As an early member of a critical Ads team and an important product area, you will have significant ownership and responsibility in shaping Reddit’s overall monetization strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & vision: Define and own the long-term vision and strategy for app promotion ads on Reddit, aligning it with broader business goals and market trends in mobile advertising.
  • Requirements gathering: Gather insights from advertisers, agencies, sales, and ecosystem partners to understand their pain points and needs. Translate these insights into innovative ad products that drive app installs, engagement, and monetization.
  • Leadership: Be the owner and champion of Reddit’s App promotion business. Drive excitement for the product area within the organization, negotiate resources, and help all cross-functional teams come together to deliver holistic solutions that make advertisers successful.
  • Roadmap Ownership: Develop, prioritize, maintain, and execute the product roadmap for App Ads across all Reddit teams, balancing short-term wins with long-term innovation.
  • Driving execution: choose success metrics, set goals, and create accountability within the company. Help them deliver against the roadmap.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, data science, design, user research, sales, marketing, and other teams to ensure smooth product development. Act as the glue that keeps stakeholders aligned and on track.
  • Communication: As a senior member of the Product Management team and the product owner of a business line, you’ll regularly communicate across functions and the entire ads team, including frequently presenting to C-level executives.
  • Market Analysis: Stay current with the latest trends, technologies, and competitive landscape in mobile app advertising and promotion to inform product decisions.
