Staff Product Designer, Unfold

We are looking for a talented Product Designer to help guide the direction of the Creator tools within the Unfold App, which is part of our suite of Squarespace products. You will be challenged in an organization that values vision, execution, and persistence. You will take ownership of our product by solving complex problems in simple, elegant ways and empower our users to be cutting edge creators.

You have a strong visual design background and are comfortable working with engineers, user research, content strategy, and product marketing. Through collaboration with them, you will be responsible for improving the current experience, while also developing new concepts and features to push the experience forward. You are experiment-minded, and quick to prototype concepts or ideas. You are able to consider a range of user goals in order to create an experience that aids a users comprehension of the entire Squarespace offering and empowers them to make confident and thoughtful decisions. 

You'll report to the Senior Product Design Manager on our Unfold team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand the product and our users in order to define new opportunities for creative tools that keep our product on the cutting edge of design.
• Design concepts for creators that are usable, beautiful, and define the creative tooling space in mobile
• Develop information architecture, build wireframes and rapidly prototype your designs all while helping grow and inform our design system
• Work with developers during build processes
• Collaborate with Marketing and Brand teams to ensure that efforts are mirrored
• Contribute to OKRs, product strategy, vision, and roadmap by working closely with PM and Engineering partners.
• Define problems, identify insights, and measure solutions through deep collaboration with Research and Product Analytics
• Contribute to thought leadership as a senior member of the design team by providing feedback, direction, and support
• Provide mentorship and coaching to junior members of the team

QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of experience 
• Affinity for consistency, color, typography, animation and a keen eye for subtle details
• Experience in the UX process inclusive of research, visual design and prototyping
• Able to build strong cross-functional partnerships and successful executive stakeholder management
• Proven ability putting yourself in the customer’s shoes and coming up with ideas that are relevant and enticing
• Knowledge of current trends in design and technology
• Proficiency in animation and prototyping tools like Adobe After Effects and Protopie
• Graphic design skills and a portfolio showcasing web or mobile design work and beautiful comps that communicate large concepts

A portfolio of relevant design work is required for consideration. It should illustrate your involvement and how you contributed to solving specific problems.
