We're seeking a highly-skilled Staff Product Designer with Design System expertise. An ideal candidate should be able to play a pivotal role in shaping the visual and functional consistency of our product, driving innovation, and creating exceptional user experiences across our digital ecosystem.
In this crucial role, you will be responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining a comprehensive design system that ensures a consistent and seamless user experience across PandaDoc.
Thesis is PandaDoc's design system. Thesis is a tool aiming at building high-quality and consistent user experience for PandaDoc users utilizing reusable styles and components according to specific standards. Thesis stands on three pillars:
  • Development: In UIkit you can review our react components, get familiar with their properties and read the development documentation.
  • Design: We store foundation styles and design of our components in Figma library.
  • Documentation: thesis.pandadoc.com. Documentation is the place where you can read about our visual language, style foundation, rules of components usage.
The design team currently consists of a bunch* of 23 designers, 5 researchers and one copywriter. We're spread across the globe, from Portugal, Spain, Poland, Ukraine and the U.S.

In this role, you will:

  • Usability and accessibility: Champion usability and accessibility principles to create intuitive and accessible user experiences. Refine user journeys and interactions to simplify complex workflows and enhance user satisfaction.
  • Collaboration: Proactively communicate changes, project progress, updates, project notes, strategic thoughts, etc. to managers, key stakeholders, and peers. Ensuring visual and functional consistency across all products by advocating for design system best practices and standards.
  • Research: Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research to gather insights and refine design hypotheses. Iterate designs based on user feedback and research findings to continuously improve the product experience and validate design solutions.
  • Design System Development: Establishing and refining a scalable design system that includes components, patterns, and guidelines.
  • Documentation and Training: Creating comprehensive documentation and providing training sessions to ensure effective adoption and usage of the design system.
  • Strategic Impact: Set design direction, standards, and best practices for Thesis Design System of PandaDoc. Playing a key role in defining the long-term vision and strategy for the design system, aligning it with the company’s goals and objectives.

  • Figma for craft and store design component library
  • Coda for our internal kitchen: processes, checklists, playbooks, etc.
  • Slack and Zoom for communication
  • Miro for collaboration
  • Zeroheight for design documentation
  • Amplitude, Uservoice, Rally and more for listening our users
  • Anything, you think would be valuable for us, can be tested

About you:

  • Experience: Significant experience in design systems, preferably in a lead or senior role. Demonstrated experience in designing complex software products focusing on delivering user-friendly solutions.
  • Expertise: Deep understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and accessibility standards. Strong understanding of user psychology and human-centered design principles. Bonus points if you have experience in document management or workflow builders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma, Framer, Adobe Creative Suite) and a strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills (C1 in English), with the ability to articulate complex design concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving design issues.
  • Competency: Proficiency in interaction design, visual design, information architecture, and design systems.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
