Staff Product Designer, Cross-Marketplace Experience

What’s the role?

The retail landscape is dramatically shifting and our Product Design team is focused on evolving our marketplace experience to ensure Etsy is both the best place for buyers to find unique, quality items and for sellers to grow their businesses.Our customers deserve experiences that cultivate their loyalty and make it easier to engage with all that is magical about Etsy!

You’ll have the flexibility to work across the marketplace, in 3-9 month long rotations, and tackle exciting new challenges.Using your strong approach to innovation and a proven set of processes for solving different types of problems, you’ll take complex processes and interactions and make them intuitive and streamlined.

What’s product design like at Etsy?

Typically, product designers at Etsy work in a squad with a product manager, 3-5 engineers, researcher and analyst. Together they drive their own part of Etsy, deliver solutions to challenging problems and get feedback directly from customers. 

Day to day, it looks like: 

• Discovering insights, opportunities, and requirements

• Ideating concepts then testing prototypes and hypotheses with users to collect feedback

• Launching experiments and evaluating how they perform and how to iterate

• Presenting your work to peers and leadership, async and in-person

• Taking part in weekly design critiques, workshops, all hands and squad meetings

• Thinking and writing about your process and documenting your decisions

Staff level at Etsy means:
