COVID-19 Vaccination Policy
Prosper is continuing to grow our team during the COVID-19 pandemic, conducting fully remote hiring and onboarding processes. Our philosophy as a business is to approach the COVID-19 situation with empathy and urgency. Prosper’s top priority is the health and safety of our employees and of the communities we serve, including our customers, partners, prospects, and candidates. In accordance with this priority, along with our legal responsibility to provide and maintain a workplace that is safe and free of known hazards, we have adopted a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy which requires all of our employees to receive vaccinations, unless they have an approved accommodation.

We are continuing our aggressive growth within the design team and are looking for a Senior Design System Specialist to support our growing portfolio of products – including both established and new customer solutions.
Prosper builds personalized and simple financial solutions for our customers. We believe in tapping into our engaged user base through rigorous qualitative and quantitative research to uncover their unmet needs and improve their financial lives. As a Sr. Design System Specialist and member of the UX and Product teams, you are more than a designer: you apply UX design principles to tackle complex financial problems for the business, enabling stakeholders to create engaging, simple, and elegant experiences that delight customers and ultimately solve user goals. You'll partner with the UX team to establish enterprise-wide design principles, foster UX team engagement with the design system, lead the documentation and organization of the system, and be the primary advocate for the Prosper Design System. You'll work collaboratively with various types of stakeholders, with a particular focus working directly with our UX designers, writers, researchers, and engineers.

What You Will Do

  • Work with other UX designers to establish a design system strategy
  • Create, prioritize, and maintain the design system roadmap of features, capabilities, and issues in line with our strategy
  • Work with other UX Designers to design, build and maintain components, patterns, and documentation in Figma
  • Work with multiple agile teams to identify opportunities to enhance the design system while providing value to the business and Prosper’s customers
  • Document best practices and usage guidelines to help designers, engineers, and other stakeholders understand how, why, and when to use specific components or patterns
  • Partner with other UX Designers, writers, and researchers to ensure design consistency and excellence
  • Design and envision future experiences iteratively in an agile environment by being mindful of how the experience needs to evolve over time
  • Apply human-centered design principles to frame problems, uncover patterns and discover improvement opportunities
  • Continuously grow and share your depth of knowledge and aid your colleagues in growing their own understanding of design systems
  • Work closely with engineering to ensure a high-quality technical integration of our design system that enables us to ship faster and at scale
  • Advocate for the design system vision both internally and with key stakeholders
  • Influence cultural change and ensure we are challenging the status quo, if needed, by promoting continuous improvement

All About You

  • 5+ years of experience designing and maintaining multi-product design systems
  • Portfolio that displays history of Figma expertise, including strong prior experience using it to implement a design system for a digital product in a complex product ecosystem
  • Portfolio demonstrating understanding of visual harmony, information hierarchy, and best practices around design patterns
  • Experience with design tokens and atomic design principles
  • You’re collaborative. You have experience (and love) partnering with others
  • An understanding of accessibility principles and experience building products that are inclusive of users with varying abilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with varying priorities while working independently under minimal supervision
  • Able to navigate challenging situations and conversations with integrity and respect
  • You are process-oriented with a knack for project management
