Sr. Staff Product Designer

As a Senior Staff Product Designer, you’ll be playing a vital role in driving Ripple toward a self-service future, while ensuring continuity of our customer experiences across multiple different roles – from technical integration to day-to-day operations.  We’re looking for a seasoned and confident UX architect and designer to dive right in and translate user problems into thoughtful and elegant design solutions. Your UX thought leadership and flawless design solutions will propel Ripple forward as a business while transforming the financial industry.

WHAT YOU'LL SO:

• Quickly develop a deep understanding of how Ripple’s user landscape maps to our product architecture, and craft a vision for how our product experiences should scale and evolve
• Prototype user experiences from start to finish, owning all aspects of the design - strategy, architecture, interaction design, and visual design
• Work iteratively to craft and validate designs, collaborating closely with other designers, product managers, documentation writers, and a fast-moving team of developers who are passionate about UX
• Lead workshops with customers and customer-facing stakeholders to evolve the shared customer understanding, and drive meaningful outcomes
• Identify opportunities to improve the user experience and champion your ideas, so they get prioritized and implemented
• Approach designs from a systems perspective, developing patterns that get adopted by others
• Contribute guidelines and components to Ripple’s holistic design system and component library
• Partner with user researchers to identify, plan, and develop valuable research studies that improve the understanding of Ripple’s enterprise users and their needs
• Champion design thinking and user-centric practices across the company, and be a strong advocate for users in cross-functional meetings
• Mentor designers within Ripple’s centralized design organization

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• 10+ years of experience of designing useful products for several types of use cases, including Enterprise applications
• A proven track record and a strong portfolio featuring examples of your work, your design process, and the outcomes/results
• Has a bias toward action -- there’s tons of greenfield opportunity here, and you’ll need to lean into the ambiguity and find a path to completion
• Can inspire people across the company with engaging presentations that clearly communicate strategic UX initiatives, paired with sensible execution plans
• Great verbal and written communicator with the ability to write copy that is human, clear and concise
• Moves effortlessly between developing and communicating high-level UX strategies and executing the fine details
• Driven by a deep understanding of how products get used, advocating for research such as concept validation, contextual inquiry, and usability testing
• Can execute on the detailed aspects of visual design such as icon design and illustration, or can direct visual designers toward solutions that balance form and function
• Takes an active role in ensuring user adoption and engagement in new product offerings
• Values over-communication, especially when collaborating with remote coworkers located in different time zones across the globe
• Excited for the chance to shape the design culture at a growing company and to inspire people with your unique perspective

Preferred, but not required

• Experience documenting complex customer journeys and internal business processes
• Data visualization expertise
