As a Product Manager - Vault in the Secure team you will be part of a team responsible for driving the future of Vault especially in a self managed environment. This role is for customer obsessed thinkers who like to understand market needs, and drive product outcomes to win with a compelling offering in a competitive market. You will conduct user research, define requirements, and oversee execution across engineering, product and marketing. You will work closely with the Secure engineering team to support release cycles in order to continuously expand and support value to Vault customers and prospects..

Responsibilities:

  • Craft the product story by understanding the landscape, user needs, and HashiCorp principles.
  • Write detailed problem requirement documents to set the context for the product roadmap
  • Prioritize the offering roadmap by taking feedback from HashiCorp Secure practitioners, ecosystem partners, engineering, marketing, and the HashiCorp vision.
  • Conduct user research and customer discovery work teaming up with the design team to define and review design prototypes.
  • Develop JTBD and Critical User Journeys in collaboration with Design for the targeted Persona as part of the discovery process.
  • Write Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to distill the research into requirements for engineering to deliver
  • Communicate product status to all partners. Keep sales and marketing updated on feature releases and keep engineering informed on feature requests
  • Help with sales and marketing collateral to educate on the product story and features (Website copy, whitepapers, sales decks, FAQs, etc)

Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of product management experience with developer products
  • Existing experience with Vault and HashiCorp products are desired
  • Analytical horsepower: You dig deep into the data, think from first principles, and deliver the right results
  • Customer and Partner facing experience: You’re comfortable in front of customers or third-party collaborators, and have experience navigating customer conversations
  • Demonstrated success in implementing product strategies with drive and determination
  • Operational rigor: You are strong operationally, capable of designing and driving across-functional team and process
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong technical acumen: Solid understanding of security, infrastructure & cloud technologies preferred

Individual pay within the range will be determined based on job related-factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.

The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:
$195,500$230,000 USD
The base pay range for this role in Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, New York (excluding NYC), Washington D.C., or California (excluding SF Bay Area) is:
$170,300$210,900 USD
The base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro) and Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:
$162,900$191,700 USD
