Overview
Nomad is HashiCorp's easy, flexible, and scalable application scheduler and orchestrator product. Nomad users can run a diverse workload of micro-service, batch, containerized and legacy applications using a common workflow. Nomad integrates seamlessly with existing HashiCorp tools for infrastructure lifecycle management (Terraform), secrets management (Vault), and service discovery (Consul). Due to its simplicity, scalability and multi-runtime nature, Nomad has been gaining significant market traction with enterprises.
This role is for someone who has experience with orchestration and application scheduling, to drive the development of Nomad. Work with internal and external stakeholders to define the roadmap, detail product requirements, and support go-to-market efforts. Work closely with the engineering team to support release cycles.
HashiCorp is looking for candidates who have the core attributes to be successful product managers in the HashiCorp style. Attributes are more important than pre-existing skills.
Responsibilities
- Craft the product story by understanding the ecosystem landscape, user needs, and HashiCorp principles.
- Prioritize the product roadmap by taking feedback from the community, enterprise customers, engineering, and the HashiCorp vision.
- Author detailed Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to distill user/market research into requirements for engineering to deliver
- Collaborate with engineering, design, PMM, and other internal stakeholders to execute on high customer impact product initiatives
- Communicate roadmap status to all stakeholders. Keep sales and marketing updated on feature releases and keep engineering informed on feature requests
- Conduct user research, write clear product specifications, and plan sprints
- Help with sales and marketing collateral to educate on the product story and features (Website copy, whitepapers, sales decks, FAQs, etc)
Experience
- 5+ years of product management experience with virtualization products
- Strong user and market research skills
- Ability to organize multiple stakeholders towards a common goal
- Analytical with the ability to prioritize and make tradeoffs
- Strong technical acumen, with a solid understanding of infrastructure, cloud and open source
- Proven approach to delivering products with an eye toward End-User Experience

Individual pay within the range will be determined based on job related-factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.
The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:
$195,500—$230,000 USD
The base pay range for this role in Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, New York (excluding NYC), Washington D.C., or California (excluding SF Bay Area) is:
$179,300—$210,900 USD
The base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro) and Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:
$162,900—$191,700 USD
