Sr Product Designer, Platform [Remote]

• HOURLY RANGE: Our client is looking to pay $110 – $135/hr

What you’ll be working on

Our client's mission is to power global travel for everyone, everywhere. The Experience Design organization (XD) is their global, cross-disciplinary team uniting user experience design, content design, and research to enable experiences that serve the needs of all their travelers, partners, and agents.

The team works on an ecosystem of internal and external travel industry focused platform products and tools. They work in complex spaces and solve user experience problems with simplicity, a systems-focused approach, and modern, minimalist solutions that are future-focused.

Key Activities

• You tap data to innovate big ideas, but your portfolio validates that small details and taste are just as important to you.

• You transform business problems into user experience opportunities, ultimately designing, testing and launching usable, useful and delightful solutions.

• You work with internal partners to gather insights around use cases, business needs, success metrics, and product interdependencies.

• You prototype your ideas and get them in front of users so you can learn and iterate toward excellence.You will build a solid toolkit of methods for facilitating the gathering and synthesizing of diverse insights in complex problem spaces.

Key Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to present ideas to various audiences.
• A candidate who values simplification and uses it to drive clarity, create momentum and focus on impactful work.
• Candidate should be a system thinker and equal parts Interaction Designer, Visual Designer, and Prototyper
• Shown expertise in a range of UX methods to deliver insights on complex, ambiguous problem spaces
• A history of successful collaborations with technical partners
• Expert in one of the following core skills, strong in two and capable in two or more: visual and interaction design skills, information architecture, user research, facilitation, prototyping, front-end presentation technology, UX writing, illustration, motion design
• The experienced core visual and interaction design skills with strong capabilities in prototyping, front-end presentation technology, and user-centered design methods
  Solid understanding of accessible design
• Big plus: experience working in complex spaces or on products that involve data and AI, APIs, or platform products. Also any experience with headless e-commerce platform products, or website builder products such as Shopify or Squarespace.
• UX design leader with 5+ years in the field and a portfolio of UX-focused work samples for web and mobile applications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-computer interaction, Graphic design, interaction design, computer science, or communications or related field; or equivalent related professional experience
