Sr. Product Designer

Team Description

The design and research team at Pendo supports the entire Pendo ecosystem. This role will be instrumental in enabling the Guidance teams to optimize workflows. The design and research team at Pendo is a highly collaborative and innovative team that operates in close connection with senior product leaders, driving innovation and growth. As a Product Designer you will be involved in all aspects of the design process: talking with customers, building lo-fi deliverables, workflows and collaborating closely with engineering and product to build pixel-perfect designs in an agile environment. You will have the ability to make a real impact in product roadmaps and to shape internal processes.

Role Responsibilities

• Creating valuable, user-focused, data-driven solutions that balance both user and business needs
• Clearly articulating concepts and design decisions to Product Managers, Engineers and other stakeholders
• Collaborating with Product and Engineering to break down ideas and define scope for projects
• Driving adoption of processes early within the org by being early practitioners and champions of those processes
• Mentoring other designers by offering feedback early and often surrounding deliverables and approaches to ideation, research
• Actively participating in design feedback sessions and discussions
• Seek opportunities refine internal processes and make them more efficient surrounding design, share findings 
• Contributing to the Pendo design system and maintaining consistent visual and interaction patterns
• Being a champion for Pendo values, best practices of design and innovation both inside and outside of the company
• Seeking opportunities to align teams on potential problems, patterns and solutions across our suite of products
• Being a representative of thought leadership within the design community

Minimum Qualifications  

• 4+ years of product design experience
• Empathetic, and have a genuinely collaborative attitude
• Curious and enthusiastic about solving people problems
• Comfortable with all aspects of product design: user research, prototyping, interaction design and visual design
• Deep understanding of the fundamental principles of product design
• Passionate about product innovation
• Experience working closely with Product Managers and Engineers to ship real product
• Design and deliver innovative end-to-end user experiences that are grounded in customer insights, business goals and technology - across web and mobile.
• Data-driven—use data to inform design decisions
• Strong communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience designing for analytics and/or with creating data visualizations
• Ability to code html/css
• Experience working with geo-located teams
• Ability to write or give feedback on UI copy

Compensation

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide.

The expected salary range for this role to be performed in:

Raleigh, NC - USD $105,000 - $120,000

Individual pay rate decisions, including offers made within and over the expected salary range, are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
