Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior UX Researcher to conduct both foundational and directional studies. You will be responsible for learning what our users expect from the product and working with the design team to develop innovative solutions. You will be encouraged to find new areas for improvement within the product via qualitative and quantitative methods, including user interviews, usability testing, log analysis, unmoderated user testing, surveys, and secondary research.

This is an exciting opportunity to drive research for both new initiatives and design revamps in a fast-growing pre-IPO startup. In this role, you will also be responsible to:

  • Plan and conduct context-appropriate research that varies in approach, scale, scope, time frame, and methodology depending on project requirements

  • Support the product team in testing ideas and prototypes with internal and external users

  • Use quantitative sources like Snowflake and Mixpanel to parse through usage logs to complement or inspire follow-up qualitative studies that understand the "why" behind the data

  • Cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders and customers as part of ongoing partnerships

  • Synthesize, communicate, and present research findings to stakeholders. Make concrete and actionable recommendations based on your findings

  • Clearly articulate the rationale behind research conclusions and recommendations

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Cognitive Science, or related field.

  • You have at least 5 years of end-to-end experience (or at least 1 year of product research experience for PhDs) conducting all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting).

  • You have extensive experience with foundational studies and are excited about supporting new product initiatives.

  • You are confident in your knowledge of design research methods and understand the strengths and weaknesses of these methods. You've got stories of how you've applied them to real-world practical problems.

  • You can work independently and adapt your research methods as necessary in the face of time constraints.

  • You are fluent with data and principles of experiment design.

  • You're a great storyteller and communicator, able to write and speak
