The Earnest design team shapes the client experience, creates a memorable brand, and helps to fulfill the mission and vision. We are looking to hire a Senior UX Researcher to join the design team in San Francisco. You will help Earnest understand its clients and prospective clients in order to build better products and experiences to serve them. Research at Earnest is about finding and communicating insights that drive action and improvements in product and marketing.

We would like to hear from people with a history of applied product research. People who have discovered, interpreted, and communicated insights from qualitative and quantitative data. Someone who understands the balance between scrappiness and rigor.

• Independently plan, execute and analyze research across all aspects of the company.
• Deliver research insights in a form that is compelling, easily understood and actionable.
• Work with design, analytics, product management, marketing and engineering to formulate and address research questions.
• Collaborate with quantitative researchers and other stakeholders to create a holistic understanding of our users and product experiences.
• You will develop a clear understanding of the motivations of our current & future clients.
• You will implement and maintain research tools to be used to inform decisions.
• You will deliver timely and concrete findings, along with prioritized recommendations.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

• Education or practical experience in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Information Science, Statistics or related field
• 4+ years of experience in user (or market) research for a startup, tech company, or digital agency
• In-depth understanding of user-centered design principles
• Deep knowledge of a range of qualitative research methods (Methodologies may include surveys, ethnographic field research, in-depth interviews, focus groups, diary studies, lab and remote usability testing, and card sorting.)
• Basic understanding of quantitative research and statistical concepts
