Senior UX Researcher

Team Description

Pendo is a multi-app platform that gives users a better understanding of how their targeted applications are being used. Pendo provides qualitative and quantitative tools to enable businesses to deliver more successful digital experiences, maximize engineering resources by focusing on only the most critical problems, drive revenue growth through better product adoption and customer retention and scale customer communication by reaching users in-app via customizable UI widgets.
Pendo is also used for internally facing use cases to improve employees software experiences and maximize ROI on software investments.

The design and research team at Pendo supports the entire Pendo ecosystem, and will have opportunities to support multiple areas of the platform over time. It is crucial that our customers experience Pendo as a unified platform ecosystem. This role will be instrumental in enabling teams to identify and optimize cross-platform opportunities, whilst enabling individual teams to optimize their workflows.
The design and research team spans across the entire Pendo platform ecosystem.
Researchers are assigned to areas that are critical for growth and expansion.
The design and research team at Pendo is a highly collaborative and innovative team that operates in close connection with senior product leaders, driving innovation and growth.
It is a place where individuals have opportunities to make a real impact in product roadmaps and to shape internal processes,
including how we execute and scale design and research at Pendo.

Role Responsibilities

• Conduct generative (attitudinal) and evaluative (behavioral) research in collaboration with designers and PMs.
• Build expertise on Pendo as a product, and help to define how Pendo can be incorporated into the research process (enable internally so that we can teach this externally, increasing the value of Pendo for ourselves and our customers).
• Be a strong advocate for user- and data-driven product development.
• Educate counterparts on best practices and current trends within research.
• Participate in establishing a library of personas, customer journeys, workflows and JTBDs.
• Create and maintain re-usable user research templates and accessible guidelines to enable PMs and designers to self-serve when needed.
• Participate in Dovetail insights library and research repository ongoing maintenance.
• Facilitate and lead group discussions (internally and externally) to enable teams to further define problems or narrow scope.
• Leverage visual communication to effectively relay user needs, data-driven insights, and to help teams identify areas for improvement and optimization

Minimum Qualifications  

• 2 yrs Experience supporting B2B or SaaS platform development. 
• 4 yrs Strong advocate for the user and for data-driven product development, strong story-telling capabilities. 
• 4 yrs Experience conducting multiple research methods, including generative (attitudinal), evaluative (behavioral), qualitative and quantitative. Ability to align appropriate methods with research objectives. 
• 4 yrs Ability to analyze and synthesize qual and quant data. 
• 4 yrs Ability to communicate research insights and recommendations to drive clarity and inform business and design decision-making. 
• Problem-solving skills and visual communication.

Compensation

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide.

The expected salary range for this role to be performed in:

Sheffield, UK - GBP £45,000 - £58,000. 

Individual pay rate decisions, including offers made within and over the expected salary range, are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
