On our path to becoming the world's favorite way to shop, we’re assembling an unparalleled global talent network, accelerating individual careers, and disrupting entire industries. We are on a mission to liberate humanity from all the meaningless time spent managing their purchases and finances, so they can do more of what they love. We’re in search of global talent eager to embrace a hypergrowth atmosphere and defy their own expectations.

The Consumer Offering: Market Localization team is looking for a Senior UX Researcher primarily to support research needs in the American & Australian markets, but to help set up tooling and a research framework that can be used for end-to-end testing of our products in other markets as well.

We are looking for a Senior UX Researcher with a background in applied qualitative research. Candidates should have strong skills in qualitative competencies such as interviewing, synthesis, and analysis, as well as knowledge of survey design and basic quantitative methodologies.

Our aim is to understand our customers and with absolute dedication, ensure that serving the customer comes first. You will see the world from the customer’s perspective, have the foresight of their problems and bring those insights to different teams in the company. You have the possibility to see the entire spectrum of Klarna’s products and collaborate with cross-functional team members to define and prioritize research and tell compelling stories to promote the voice of the customer in the organization. Your research will be the final evaluation of the products and will generate user experience insights that will move our products forward and make Klarna the favorite way to shop.

What you’ll do as a UX Researcher

  • Map out research needs and align with different teams on a research roadmap.
  • Seek the voice of the customer in the end-to-end user journey of our products by performing continuous testing of the product offering.
  • Will also conduct research on competitor products to help benchmark our experience and perceived value to the customer.
  • Plan and carry out moderated and unmoderated tests as well as suggest other research opportunities to help understand if customer needs are being met.
  • Discover and establish research-related vendors.
  • Develop best practices for end-to-end product testing that can be leveraged by other markets.
  • Collaborate with other researchers, product managers, and UX designers to ensure research translates into business impact and complements the work other researchers are doing. As time permits, support central UX researchers in performing research.
  • Share your findings and insights broadly within the Klarna organization.

Who you are

  • 3+ years conducting user research for software products with stories to share.
  • Able to share meaningful research results with teams quickly.
  • Flexible in your approach to research. Our goal is to provide product teams with value. If an existing research method doesn’t do that, we invent our own.
  • Able to perform all research-related tasks in the research project lifecycle: Create a test plan, write a screener, recruit users, schedule users, moderate test, create video clip highlights, compile top-line results, create a findings summary, author durable reports, and effectively present and share results.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and act as a strategic partner in product decisions.
  • Experience with remote testing tools.
  • You have a background in human behavior-related field (Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Social Science, Statistics, Design, Business, Behavioral or Microeconomics, Technical Communication or other related fields) or equivalent experience.
  • Location: Columbus, Ohio or New York City

What to include in your application

  • A CV/Resume in English
  • Optional: A portfolio of your work
