About the job

This position is needed to help shape the future of the Sendgrid email platform. This user researcher will partner closely with the product team to shape the roadmap for a critical product in Twilio’s customer engagement suite, deeply understanding both the marketer and developer personas needs when it comes to delivering exceptional email experiences.

As a Senior UX Researcher, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional team members across design, product, marketing, and engineering to scope and execute strategic research initiatives. Your insights will influence product roadmap and help bring the customer to the center of key decision-making. You will also work to help build research capabilities via coaching and training, up-leveling customer-obsession muscles across the organization. 

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Execute multi-method research projects collaboratively with cross functional partners
  • Discover game changing insights that change the direction of the product
  • Build research capabilities in those around you
  • Foster a culture of customer empathy
  • Influence fledgling research ops processes

Required:

  • 3+ years experience in user research or design strategy for a software product
  • Deep understanding of different research methods across qual and quant (including ethnographic interviews, user observation, surveys, in-product experimentation, diary studies, concept testing, rapid prototyping, etc.)
  • A strong design-thinking mindset and familiarity with the product development process
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams through complex research projects
  • A portfolio that demonstrates insightful output and business impact
  • Strong storytelling and influence skills

Desired:

  • Experience researching with the developer audience (ex. research for APIs)

Location 

This role will be <remote, and based in North America>.

Approximately <0% to 10%> travel is anticipated.

  • The estimated pay range for this role, based in Colorado, is $109,280 - $150,260.
  • Sales Commission: Additionally, this role is eligible to earn commissions and eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.
  • Non-Sales: Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state. This role is also eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
