Senior UX Designer - Freelance

ustwo is looking for a freelance Senior UX Designer to join the design team in our New York Studio.

We're looking for an experienced Senior UX Product Designer who relishes designing complex tools and platforms. You champion the user’s voice and are confident mapping and optimizing end-to-end journeys through a complex ecosystem of products. You value user research and have a tool kit of research methods and techniques to uncover insights and test design concepts/prototypes. This project will involve a high level of client stakeholder interaction, so clear communication skills are critical.

You’ll be acting as a discipline lead within the project, working alongside a collaborative and talented team to design out a new platform across native and mobile platforms.

Requirements:

• Understand clients’ design needs and work within those constraints, and work to uncover and unpack problem(s) to be solved. 
• Be hungry for new and deeper insights and advocating on behalf of users. Experienced in influencing hypotheses for design exploration. 
• Diverge and converge quickly and effectively. This includes demonstrating the ability to think at a high-level, across the product ecosystem, as well as detail-oriented at a feature level. Strong structural design skills with the ability to evolve the experience and push boundaries.
• Able to distill insights and complex requirements in creating IAs, experience blueprints, end end-to-end flows, robust wireframes, low-fidelity prototypes, etc. 
• Working knowledge of design systems 
• Visualizing and prototyping concepts to varying levels of fidelity to demonstrate and validate ideas

Working practices: 

• Proficient in Figma and common UI and prototyping tools
• Organized and self-motivated and also comfortable working independently and as a strong voice from a discipline perspective
• Able to communicate effectively both internally and externally in both written and verbally. Clearly present various stages of design process, concepts and ideas to business owners, team members, and stakeholders of all levels
• Brings a collaborative working style to a cross-discipline team of product designers, developers and delivery managers to ensure delivery of high-quality products on time and on budget
• Comfortable setting up and running collaborative workshops wit both with clients and within the team
• The ability to deal with pressure and can work in a fast-paced environment, and experience working within an agile sprint-based process.

This role is expected to be fully remote within the United States and working on an EST time zone. This is a full-time/40-hour a week contract position starting at the end of February 2022 and lasting for approximately 4 weeks. Please provide a link to your online portfolio.

The hourly rate range for this position is from $75 - $100 per hour based on experience, skillset, location, and market demands.
