Change.org is searching for a Senior UX Designer who is great at UX, testing, processes and accessibility  and has a passion for expanding our platform to mobilize hundreds of millions of people to take deeper civic action.

We’re a social impact business (a public benefit company), and the world's largest nonprofit-owned tech platform focused on civic action with 100m monthly users, 50,000+ campaigns launched on the site every month, and a 100% user-generated revenue model. Our users win campaigns for change once every hour.

From mobilizing over 5 million people to investigate the fires in the Amazon, to mobilizing nearly 3 million against war and famine in Yemen, to large-scale mobilizations for the people of Iran and against the war in Ukraine, and calling for Racial Justice in the US, many movements were born on Change.org. Dozens of local, national, and international victories are happening every day thanks to the strength of our members who are changing the lives of people around the world. We want to help them go even further and we need your help!

Imagine that a major, impactful event happened (or is about to occur) in your community. You are passionate about the issue and want to harness the power of the people around you to make some kind of positive change, but aren’t quite sure where to start. This is the reality of so many activists and organizers who use Change.org – and our team is uniquely positioned to help them when they need it most. We have the opportunity to address many real-world challenges that can only be solved with a deep empathy for our users, diligent product & design thinking, and a strong drive to make a positive impact. Some questions we’re working on answering right now are:

  • How might we best support movement leaders and decision makers to create change?
  • What resources do people who come to our site to support an issue need?
  • How might we help people to celebrate, support and motivate others?

You will report to our Associate Design Director.

As a key member of our Design team, you will be influential in creating and developing the user experience, feeding directly into the product strategy for your product team. You are great at UX, testing, processes and accessibility and have a passion for expanding our platform to mobilize hundreds of millions of people to take deeper civic action.

Key Outcomes:

  • Use and evolve our design system and guidelines, to create new features from ideas on paper to implementation.
  • Apply accessibility standards and guidelines to your designs.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to create product plans and maintain product design processes.

The most important skills and capabilities for the role are:

  • Communication - you communicate design goals and processes clearly and concisely to other team members and stakeholders.
