We are seeking an experienced researcher to join our Design team. As a researcher, your mission will be to help Divvy improve and develop innovative products and experiences that customers love. You will be responsible for research at every stage of product development from concept through launch and beyond for our software products.
At its core, the role is about deeply understanding the needs and behaviors of our users, and generating actionable insights to drive product and design strategy.
For this position, we are looking for people with proven skills and experience in qualitative and mixed research methods, as well as usability validation. More importantly, you are a strategic thinker and you know how to discover, interpret, and communicate user insights for product design in a fast-paced and scrappy environment.
Responsibilities
- Proactively plan and execute a research agenda
- Lead and manage large research initiatives from beginning to end
- Employ a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Partner with product, engineering, design, and marketing leads throughout the research and design process
- Analyze and synthesize research findings into actionable insights
- Inform product roadmap with new features through user research insights
- Evangelize user research and user-centered design throughout the company
- Manage external vendors to support research activities
What we are looking for
- 7+ years of relevant work experience testing software products and digital services.
- You have a track record of discovering, synthesizing, and socializing actionable insights that influence product roadmap
- You have experience using a wide variety of research methods (e.g. rapid ethnography, contextual inquiry, focus groups, surveys, concept testing, usability validation, experimentation)
- You have experience leading foundational, generative, and evaluative research and know when each is most appropriate
- You are self-driven and take initiative to identify research needs and solve problems
- You clearly, concisely, and persuasively communicate research findings
- You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, experience working at a startup is a plus
- A strong emoji game is not required but strongly encouraged 🤫
