About the team:
Our team is distributed across Asia and Europe. You are welcome to work remotely from anywhere, as long as there is at least 4 hours of overlap with the colleagues you will be working closely with. Alternatively, you can join us in our Hong Kong or London office. Goodnotes has embraced an asynchronous work culture, ensuring that time differences will not impact your work-life balance.
About the role:
This is a key role where you will craft research-driven insights that shape experiences for both end-users and system administrators. You will be focusing on new verticals in the enterprise space, working closely with product designers, business development, and other cross-functional teams. Your research will guide the design and development of systems and user-facing features, ensuring that we meet the needs of our diverse user base.
This is the role for you, if you’re excited to work on the things listed below:
- Conduct and lead user research to inform the design of user-centric experiences that drive sustainable growth and engagement for Goodnotes.
- Collaborate with the design team to ideate and refine UI flows that increase conversions and optimize growth loops.
- Engage in product experimentation, including formulating hypotheses, developing research methodologies, and running A/B tests.
- Influence product strategy through design thinking, incorporating user insights into every stage of development.
- Analyze quantitative data and qualitative insights to generate creative ideas and informed design decisions.
- Lead research efforts on B2B solutions, a brand-new segment that Goodnotes is actively building.
The skills you will need to be successful in the above:
- 5-7 years career experience in actual product delivery. Minimum of 3 years in enterprise related work.
- Proficiency in a range of research methodologies, including usability testing, surveys, interviews, and data analysis.
- Experience in designing and conducting end-to-end research processes, from problem framing and data collection to analysis and presentation of findings.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and design recommendations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in small, cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, data analysts and engineers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present research findings clearly and persuasively.
- Ability to work independently, taking ownership of research projects from conception through to completion.
- Experience in providing research inputs to optimize conversion rates and drive product improvements.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring junior Researchers within a functional team.
- Systems thinking with the ability to zoom in on details while also maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the overall user experience.
- Experience in B2B research.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience in conducting research for productivity or learning tools.
- Familiarity with designing and researching collaboration solutions and tools.

The interview process:
- An introductory call with someone from our talent acquisition team. They want to hear more about your background, what you are looking for, and why you’d like to join GoodNotes
- Portfolio Review: A one-hour session with our research and design teams to dive deeper into your methodologies and findings. You’ll be expected to walk through your portfolio and give an overview of your experience.
- Cross-functional Interview: A 1 hour call with our Product Manager and Team Lead for the Enterprise team.
