Spotify is looking for a Senior User Researcher to join our Commerce Platform focusing on commerce capabilities. As a commerce platform team, our mission is to unlock commerce at Spotify through an outstanding platform that enables teams to quickly and safely build businesses and create user value. 

As a user researcher, your role is to navigate and lead product innovation in an ambiguous space, building a deep understanding of users' problems and turn user research into insights to inform the development of new products. Together with your teammates you will help drive our ambitious goals, driving the next phase of Spotify meteoric growth!

What You'll Do

  • Plan and conduct exploratory and evaluative user research
  • Deliver high confidence insights that enable evidence-based decisions, shape strategies and develop hypotheses for what we should build and ship in the commerce platform
  • Work across our commerce capabilities teams as well as our platform access teams & commerce customers in order to build end to end commerce products that contribute to the platform vision and meet our customers commerce needs
  • Build trusted relationships with design, product, engineering and commerce partners to drive impact from your research
  • Develop and innovate on our mixed-methods user research practice
  • Employ a wide range of storytelling techniques to communicate results and recommendations to product, design and engineering teams
  • Participate in and contribute to the broader insights community at Spotify by sharing knowledge, expertise, mentoring and improving processes
  • Use user inputs to help inform the commerce platform architecture and strategy

Who You Are

  • You are a mixed methods researcher. An expert in at least 3 quantitative and qualitative user research methods and a variety of user research tools
  • You have worked in a research role at a consumer-focused or a business-to-business company
  • You are comfortable with ambiguous and unstructured questions and know how to break them down into actionable and concrete research work streams
  • You have a people-focused mentality and will passionately advocate for the Spotify listeners and internal customers alike
  • You have the experience of working with multidisciplinary teams including data and behavioral scientists, designers, engineers and product managers. It’s a plus if you have previous experience directly working in a customer facing role
  • You know how to draw insights from multiple, diverse data streams and are able to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data
  • You are committed to communicating insights in a compelling manner, employing storytelling to paint a picture, build understanding and inspire 
  • You are able to communicate insights and ideas to senior leadership, business people, designers, engineers and other partners
