Meet your team

Our research team is defining the what, how, when, and why of user research at Choco. We work closely with product designers and product managers to understand our customers, their needs, and identify how we can best develop products and features that allow them to be more efficient and profitable.

We are looking for bold, hard-working, and passionate team players to define the future of the global food supply chain and transform an entire industry.

You will take ownership of research projects, including developing a research plan, recruiting customers for research, conducting interviews, setting up surveys or running usability tests, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and summarizing research findings to drive impact in our product teams.

This is a great opportunity for impact. The research you conduct can influence the company at all levels, from feature designs and implementation to long-term company strategy. The UX researcher reports to the Chief Design Officer, Katharina Birkenbach.

What you’ll do

  • Define User Research Best Practices, onboarding product designers, product managers, and other Choco team members on end-to-end best practices for conducting research
  • Deliver Best-In-Class User Research, collaborating with product designers, product managers, and other stakeholders to develop clear research goals based on project needs
  • Deliver clear research documentation, including test plans, analyses, and reports
  • Recruit Choco international customers and non-customers for user research
  • Conduct high-quality surveys, interviews, and user tests that minimize bias and ensure reliability of findings
  • Deliver clear, accurate, and impactful insights from user interviews, evaluative tests, surveys, and other research methodologies
  • Create engaging, storytelling-style synthesis of data
  • Evangelize user research throughout the company through trainings, workshops, brownbags, and other outreach channels
  • Mentor and train junior researchers, product designers, product managers on user research best practices


What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human-Centered Design or other relevant areas 
  • 3+ years' experience with qualitative user research methods, including:
    • User testing (e.g. In-person, Remote, Moderated and Unmoderated)
    • Surveys
    • In-depth interviews
    • Observational methods
    • Understanding of benefits and drawbacks of each method
  • Self-starter, open, and growth-focused individual
  • Clear, eloquent, and effective communicator
  • Fluent English and fluent in German, Spanish or French
