PeopleFun is seeking a Senior User Researcher to primarily help game teams understand their audiences, assess the competitive gaming landscape, and determine product/market fit by conducting a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods. You will also conduct formative and evaluative product research, such as playtests and in-game surveys. You will use your expertise to help teams understand when and how to include user research in their processes, and demonstrate value through consistent execution of research and delivery of insights. You will also shape the methods and processes used by the research team at PeopleFun to help our game teams deliver the highest quality products.
Responsibilities
- Serve game teams by identifying what questions they have that can be answered by primary market research (e.g., surveys), and then design, execute, and report answers and actionable feedback.
- Summarize and derive insights from secondary research sources, such as competitive intelligence providers (e.g., SensorTower).
- Develop and build out market research operations at PeopleFun, including working with third-party research vendors as needed.
- Help build work pipelines between the user research team and other player or data-focused teams such as community management and data analytics.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders so that you are considered a thought partner to them.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (graduate degree preferred) in Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Human-Computer Interaction, or similar human subjects research field.
- 3+ years conducting user research with an emphasis on quantitative and/or market research. Games and/or mobile app research experience is a plus.
- Experience with research tools such as Alchemer, Qualtrics, Excel, SPSS, R, etc.
- Detail-oriented, scientific thinker.
- Ability to multitask, efficiently manage time and priorities, and work with minimal oversight.
- Ability to communicate complex results throughout an organization.
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
- Receptive to constructive feedback.
- Love for mobile games.
