Senior Technical Writer at Adyen

Adyen is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join the Platform and Financial Services team in Madrid. This role will focus on the components and open banking products. The ideal candidate is someone who has several years experience writing in-depth documentation for technical audiences. We want to talk to you if you: have written API documentation; have experience in financial technology; are an expert in git and docs-as-code; can help take our docs and tools/processes to the next level. 

What you’ll do

• Write technical documentation for our external developer and marketplace/merchant audience, include API reference content;
• Deliver clear and concise documentation following our style guide; 
• Continuously evaluate our tech stack and processes for improvements;
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Adyen;
• Review, challenge and copy edit the content created by non-writers and drive best practices in technical writing with others

Who you are

• You have 5+ years of experience in technical/developer documentation;
• You have extensive experience with docs-as-code (git, markdown);
• You use strong data analysis skills to drive continuous improvements;
• You enjoy working together with developers and product managers to deliver quality documentation;
• You can write conceptual documentation, detailed integration guides, code samples, API reference, and other online materials in a clear and concise manner;
• You are outspoken and you like to take ownership. You are determined to influence content, drive the documentation strategy, user experience, and tooling;
• Experience developing with programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, PHP, Ruby, or others are a plus;
• Previous fintech experience is preferred, but not required.

• Based out of our Madrid office. We have a hybrid workplace and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles. We do offer relocation for the right candidate.
