The opportunity
We are on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Technical Product Manager to take the helm of our invoicing and payments infrastructure. Based in Berlin or Amsterdam, this role calls for a visionary Technical Product Manager to join our Platform/Capabilities hive — a hub of innovation that propels our shared technology to new heights, ensuring a superior member, partner and company experience.
As a Senior Technical Product Manager, together with your Engineering manager, your partner in crime, you have ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of our payment experience and payment systems, including direct involvement with Payment Service Providers (PSPs).
You play a pivotal role in strengthening the financial backbone of our platform, focusing on the scalability and reliability of payment processing, invoicing, and financial integrations.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the development and operational execution of our invoicing and payment infrastructure, ensuring alignment with our broader company and platform goals.
- Oversee the integration with various PSPs, navigating the complexities of payment gateways and merchant accounts.
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog, focusing on critical payment features such as payment processing, fraud, error handling, compliance, and reporting.
- Collaborate closely with finance, legal, and compliance teams to ensure our payment solutions adhere to regional regulations and financial standards.
- Employ your deep technical knowledge to troubleshoot and optimize payment flows, reduce friction, and enhance payment success rates.
- Monitor industry trends in payments and fintech to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
- Take ownership of KPIs, discover the best way of achieving our goals, and drive your team to execute successfully against company OKRs, short-term gains, and long-term strategic initiatives.
- Serve as a technical mentor within the product team, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
What you need to succeed
- At least 5 years of experience in technical product management, with 3 years focusing on payments, invoicing, or financial services technology.
- A proven track record of managing complex technical products and integrating with Payment Service Providers in a high-stakes environment.
- Expertise in the financial and technical aspects of payment systems, including knowledge of international payment processing, digital wallets, and fraud prevention.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and a penchant for detail in financial reporting and analytics.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of navigating the demands of a multi-sided platform with both internal and external partners.
- A collaborative leadership style that is adaptive and results-driven, with an ability to inspire cross-functional teams towards achieving a shared vision.
