We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager, (full-time) to join our team in Berlin.

As a Senior Technical Product Manager, you will bridge the gap between technology and user experience, ensuring that our app continues to offer innovative and effective language learning tools. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, QA, data scientists, research, and marketing, to prioritize, develop, and implement features that align with our product vision. You will be part of the Product Platform organization and you will be responsible for the full product lifecycle – from concept and development to launch and iteration – all while maintaining a deep focus on the technical architecture and user impact.

You will:

  • Platform Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and own the platform product roadmap for the app’s technical features, working with stakeholders to align on business goals and customer needs
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with platform engineers, product teams, and platform leadership – including the Engineering Manager and Principal Engineer – to ensure technical alignment, scalable architecture, and effective delivery of platform initiatives
  • Feature Development: Drive improvements to internal developer workflows, CI/CD, and shared tooling to increase development speed, release confidence, and platform maintainability
  • User-Centric Approach: Use data, A/B testing, and customer feedback to inform product decisions, continuously enhancing the user experience and app performance
  • Technology Integration: Align mobile and web platform efforts, ensuring consistency across codebases, developer experiences, and shared infrastructure such as analytics, feature flags, and design systems
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Use analytics platforms to monitor key product metrics and performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and present actionable insights to the leadership team
  • Competitive Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market needs, and competitor offerings to keep the product competitive and innovative

You have:

  • Technical Expertise: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Solid understanding of building platform products. Experience in mobile platforms is compulsory, web platform a plus
  • Product Management Experience: 6+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager, preferably in an EdTech, language learning, or mobile app environment
  • Product Management Skills: Proven experience managing product development cycles, including writing technical requirements and overseeing development sprints
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa
  • Analytical Thinking: Proficient in using data and analytics to make informed product decisions. Experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively about complex technical challenges and find user-centered solutions
  • Passion for Learning: Enthusiasm for languages and education technology, with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the digital language learning space

You thrive in this role if you:

  • Enjoy solving “invisible” problems that unlock velocity for others
  • Can zoom in on technical tradeoffs and zoom out to align business goals
  • Are comfortable prioritizing across many stakeholders and systems
  • Want to shape foundational technology used by every Babbel product team

Some perks of becoming a Babbelonian:

  • Enjoy 30 vacation days and the chance to take a 3-month Sabbatical. Plus family and life situation counseling.
  • Decide how, when and from where you want to work with our flexible working hours and remote friendly options as Jobbatical (up to 3 months inside the EU) or work from our fully equipped office with nap, faith and family rooms.
  • Learn and grow with the internal learning opportunities, and use a yearly learning & development budget for external training. Learn languages with Babbel for free with your full access to Babbel.
  • Take advantage of your mobility benefits options and a discounted Urban Sports Club membership.
  • Be part of our employee communities (such as Femgineers, DE&I Ambassadors and LGBTQIA groups), attend cultural and regular social events.

Diversity at Babbel

As part of our ongoing journey towards building a diverse, equitable and inclusive company, we welcome everyone to apply, especially those individuals who are underrepresented in tech. We are a learning company, inside and out, and we encourage you to apply even if you do not fit all the technical requirements - all candidates are assessed based on skills, qualifications and on our business needs. Please state your pronouns in your application, and let us know if you’d like to be addressed by a name other than the one appearing on your official documents.
