What we're looking for

The Research Team's mission is to make user/customer perspective and expert research methodology an essential component of Momentive's decision-making process. The team delivers business impact by leveraging and conducting all forms of research - qual, quant, primary, secondary, product, and market - to help partners in product, design, and marketing deliver industry-leading experiences.

In addition to conducting research, the team empowers teams to access or build the expertise they need to apply research skills to help inform decisions at Momentive, both big and small.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Research, you'll conduct research that helps inform how we accelerate the growth of our flagship SurveyMonkey product.

You will

  • Lead the research discipline for our growth team, which is responsible for how users discover, trial, buy, and use our suite of products and services
  • Design and conduct research that deepens our understanding of our customers, probing for unmet needs and also identifying opportunities to improve the experience for our users
  • Assess the biggest opportunities for SurveyMonkey to improve and differentiate across all of our product areas
  • Educate non-researchers about research best practices and help them conduct their own research

You have

  • 6+ years of experience conducting product research, user experience (UX) research, or research in an applied setting
  • Expertise in research methods, such as surveys, experimental design, user testing, interviews, focus groups, and card sorting
  • A strong understanding of research methodologies, including when and how to apply them during each product phase
  • The ability to translate business questions to key research objectives, identify the best methodology to execute research, synthesize and analyze findings
  • Storytelling presence and experience influencing cross-functional teams in Product, Design, Marketing, and Strategy
  • Experience providing strategic recommendations that influence product strategy
  • Passion for helping cross-functional teams increase their understanding of research
  • Advanced degree in research, psychology, social sciences, human factors, HCI, or other related field
