What You'll Do
Flatiron’s Real World Evidence (RWE) Product team delivers a unique combination of data products, visualization tools, and services offerings to support a range of use cases in the drug development lifecycle. As a Senior Product Owner, you will partner closely with product management, engineering, data insights, product design, and clinicians to deliver new features and capabilities to the market.
You will:
- Translate business requirements to technical requirements, ensuring delivery against business case and ROI.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product Design, and other internal stakeholders on solutioning and prototyping, representing the interests of buyers, users and internal stakeholders.
- Manage epic and user story backlog to enable sprint-level work planning and delivery, ensuring it reflects the most current requirements and aligns with the product roadmap.
- Debate tradeoff decisions with internal stakeholders, including engineers, data scientists, product designers, and clinicians.
- Partner with engineering management to sequence work such that the team is able to deliver incremental value quickly, receive feedback early, and pivot accordingly.
- In collaboration with an engineering manager, lead scrum ceremonies, recommending and utilizing industry best practices.
- Ensure releases meet the definition of done and complies with legal, privacy, security and architectural standards.
- Mentor Product Owners and other Product Team colleagues in best practices for agile software development.
Who You Are
We are looking for a Senior Product Owner with at least 7 years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role. You’re excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day. You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact.
- You have a BA/BS degree in business management, technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- You have a strong understanding and experience using scrum methodologies and agile frameworks.
- You have experience developing, maintaining, and prioritizing backlog of epics and user stories throughout all stages of the product life cycle
- You have a strong technical aptitude with an ability to understand technical designs, challenges, and their impact on product requirements
- You have a willingness to dive deep into the subject matter and become an expert in your area of ownership
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills. You can communicate complex scientific and technical concepts in a clear and empathetic manner, ensuring stakeholder comprehension and satisfaction.
