Hi, we're Oscar. We’re hiring a Senior Manager for Product Operations to join our Product team.

About the role:

The Product Operations team unlocks Oscar's ability to ship more products faster and better, which is essential to Oscar's overall mission to use technology and design to refactor healthcare. The primary function of Product Operations is to implement and continuously improve processes leading up to product launch, and ongoing processes that have not been automated.

Oscar's work in tech spans several areas: building creative consumer experiences, technology and infrastructure, expanding into new markets, creating better ways for healthcare providers to work with patients, optimizing internal operations and processes, and lots more.

As Senior Manager, you will manage 4-6 Product Operations Associates, each of whom are embedded with 2-3 of our engineering pods. You will ensure your team members partner with their corresponding Product Managers, Engineers and Designers. You'll ensure your team manages essential product delivery processes, such as QA Planning, Launch Readiness and Bug Assessment -- both ensuring that they're accomplished and well improved. You will bring inspirational team leadership that motivates task owners and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.

You will report to the Director of Product Operations based in New York. This is a hybrid role. You will work part of the time in the New York City office and part of the time work-from-home/remote. #LI-Hybrid

Responsibilities:

Collaborating with Engineering, Design, and Product leadership to make organizational and staffing decisions, motivate and empower your teams, and refine processes.
Develop relationships with partners and team members in and across departments.
Encourage your team to refine their operational tasks, coaching them to identify opportunities for automation or simplification.
Establish measures of success for your individual team members and the team as a whole.
Establish the vision and strategy for the Product Operations team.
Mentor, coaching, and providing support to your Product Operations team.

Requirements:

An experienced technical leader and people manager. You have 6+ years of product or program management experience and have directly managed a small team for 1+ years.
Excellent people manager. You coach (without micromanaging) and thoughtfully advocate for the needs of your team.
Comfortable with complex systems. You know how to analyze and decompose a complex system into its member parts, and how to communicate that complexity simply and cleanly.
Collaborative. You love being the bridge between tech teams and our teams. You see problems from both business and tech perspectives and thoughtfully promote agreement across multiple teams.
A quick study. Healthcare is complicated; you're curious. You ask good questions, and are equally comfortable with engineers as with non-technical audiences.
Strategic. You can turn new, vague ideas into implementable projects and identify new opportunities that move the needle. You use qualitative and quantitative insights to clarify decisions wherever possible.
An end-to-end thinker. You create solutions all the way from top-level goals to smaller operational and system details.
