At Xero, Product Marketing sits at the intersection of product, marketing, sales and customer success. We work collaboratively with these teams and play a critical role in helping Xero achieve its business goals by growing demand and usage of our products.

The Product Marketing Operations team exists to enable the global Product Marketing team to do their best work by operating efficiently as a team and across the business. You will play a leading role in driving operational excellence across Product Marketing workflows and processes, with the ultimate goal of supporting greater collaboration with global and regional teams across Xero.

Working closely with the Product Marketing Leadership team, you will own the Product Marketing team operating rhythm, lead our annual and quarterly planning process including regular reporting, and design, deliver and embed processes to create consistent ways of working. You may also lead key strategic projects that support Product Marketing objectives. You will work with key stakeholders to establish and support key practices that drive collaboration and alignment between teams.

This is a 12 months Parental leave cover.

What you’ll do

  • Own and manage the Product Marketing team's operating rhythm, ensuring clear communication and alignment across the team
  • Lead the annual and quarterly planning process for the Product Marketing team, including setting objectives, priorities, and OKRs/KPIs
  • Develop and maintain regular reporting mechanisms to track and communicate team performance against goals and objectives
  • Continuously evaluate and optimise existing processes to ensure scalability and efficiency as the business grows
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership on the design, delivery and maintenance of new processes and tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Product Marketing workflows
  • Manage Xero’s online research community, in partnership with the Customer Insights team, which is primarily used by the Product Marketing team
  • Lead and/or support key strategic projects that support Product Marketing objectives, such as annual Xerocon events and in-product communication programs
  • Establish and support key practices that drive collaboration and alignment between Product Marketing and other teams, such as Marketing, Sales and Customer Success
  • Support the Product Marketing Leadership team to cultivate a fun, rewarding, diverse and results-driven culture that lives and breathes our Xero values
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to members of the Product Marketing team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

  • You will be part of the Global Product Marketing team. You will work with all our key regions, such as Australia, the US, and the UK. You will have the ability to travel if required.

What you’ll bring with you

  • 5+ years experience in an operations role, ideally global marketing operations
  • Understanding of the SaaS and/or accounting and professional service industry preferred
  • Proven experience developing, delivering and maintaining marketing operational programs to ensure cross functional alignment
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and building trust with stakeholders, resulting in effective working relationships across different teams and at all levels of the business
  • Proven ability to influence outcomes at a range of levels from individual contributor to executive management
  • Experience with managing confidential information with integrity and diplomacy
  • A pragmatic and structured thinker with the personal confidence and presence to be able to interact and influence effectively at all levels, from individual contributors to executive management
  • Creative change driver, never wanting to settle for good enough or the status quo 
  • Process-oriented, capable of creating scalable programs
  • Ability to think strategically and execute effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Exceptional communication skills; able to distill complex problems into the simple
  • Passionate collaborator and influencer who thrives on regularly connecting with cross-functional teams to work in unison towards a shared goal
