What We Do

The Search team at Mapbox mission is to “empower builders by putting the world’s geospatial data at their fingertips.” We accomplish this mission by delivering a growing suite of Search products that range from APIs, SDKs, and data products to customers in virtually every industry. We help GM and Toyota drivers find the best restaurant to stop at during their roadtrip; power food and grocery orders on Instacart; and enable large business intelligence platforms, like Snowflake and Tableau, to offer advanced geospatial analytics capabilities that inform their customers’ business-critical decisions. Collectively, these products form a model of the world that captures its richness and complexity – from different writing systems to local laws and regulations to global border disputes.

What You'll Do

We are looking for a creative, data-driven, and results-oriented marketer to join Mapbox as the Sr. Product Marketing Manager for our Search portfolio. Your focus will be helping us research and develop new products, drive product adoption, and grow revenue. You will execute growth and marketing strategies across multiple industries on a global scale. 

This is an exciting PMM role that will have an impact across Mapbox. As a Senior PMM for Search, not only will you develop and execute marketing strategies, in partnership with Marketing and the PMM team, you will have the opportunity to help shape Product Marketing at Mapbox, establish universal PMM processes and infrastructure (e.g. product launch process, competitive and market analysis templates and processes, etc.), and identify and implement PMM tools to automate and streamline our work.

We take pride in diving deep to truly understand user experiences and obsess about making every detail count to delight our customers. You must have a passion for understanding customers and representing their voice in product discussions, a knowledge of and interest in product strategy and positioning, and experience with “self-service” and sales-led products in a high growth environment. As part of this key strategic role, you will help shape our broader Search strategy as we grow our business across key verticals and across the world.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work with Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to perform research on competitors and develop product positioning, value propositions, and messaging that are backed by customer research to  be used in marketing campaigns.
  • Define and analyze metrics that measure the success of product launches and marketing campaigns.
  • Manage strategic go-to-market initiatives and programs to drive product adoption and help existing customers get more value out of Search APIs and SDKs, in addition to key partnerships (including Snowflake), and for key verticals (including Business Intelligence).
  • Produce excellent content for customers — such as blog posts, guides, training, best practice articles, and sales collateral.
  • Enable customer engagement teams to speak knowledgeably about the features and benefits of Search APIs and SDKs through regular training and effective distribution of internal training materials.
  • Be the trusted voice of sellers by surfacing insights to shape the product direction and marketing messaging.

  • 5+ years of experience driving B2B Product Marketing: You are experienced in building B2B go-to-market strategies and executing marketing campaigns by email, social, content marketing, ads, and other channels.
  • Customer focus: You care deeply about your customers and their problems, and you work tirelessly to innovate and advocate on their behalf.
  • An analytical approach: You are data driven and use your analytical skills to evaluate the success or failure of features and drive key learnings.
  • Prioritization: You have clear rationale behind the tradeoffs you make and strive to deliver immediate/tangible value to customers in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Strong written and vocal communication skills: You can talk and write about complex ideas concisely to a wide audience. You crisply articulate context and rationale that helps bring along your teammates and stakeholders.
  • Ownership and independent delivery of outcomes: Ability to develop and execute a plan based on high level direction for product growth goals.
  • Technical curiosity: You love to grock new technologies and can communicate the product value to developer audiences. 
  • High standards for work: You deliver clearly written customer FAQs, blog posts, and various marketing content. You drive a culture of quality on the teams you work with and know how to drive healthy tension between quality and velocity.

Our annual base compensation for this role ranges from $X - $Y for most US locations and 5% to 10% higher for US locations with a higher cost of labor. Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location.
