We’re hiring a Senior Product Marketing Manager to own our marketing strategy and drive increased demand from both new and existing users to the Providers mobile app and Providers Card (our debit card)! You’ll lead our go-to-market strategy and create effective messaging for new product and feature releases across both in-product and external surfaces, directly impacting our user funnel. You’ll also conduct competitive market research, define user personas, refine product positioning, and partner with the product team to influence the product roadmap. Finally, you’ll be the first product marketing hire at Propel and have the opportunity to craft the structure, processes, and critical metrics of our marketing function.

- Propel believes that everyone should be compensated fairly and equitably. We set our salary ranges using compensation data from hundreds of NYC based startups at our stage. Additionally, pay is not determined based on location. The salary range for this position is $160-185K, depending on experience. Equity and excellent benefits come with this position as well!
What you’ll do:
- Lead the go-to-market strategy and planning for new product and feature releases
- Prioritize and craft differentiated messaging across shared product surfaces
- Define product positioning and partner with product to help build a roadmap of new features and functionality that maximizes our competitiveness
- Partner with acquisition growth and design teams to position key product features and benefits in all external-facing campaigns and grow our brand awareness
- Conduct market research and become an expert in our competitive landscape
- Collaborate with user research team to develop key target user personas
- Set critical metric goals with cross-functional partners across all marketing channels and campaigns, and be accountable for the results
- Evangelize and articulate product positioning to the company so that every employee is able to internalize and vocalize it
What you have:
- 4+ years of cross-functional product marketing experience
- A history of driving and leading dozens of product/feature launches and understands what channels to prioritize to maximize demand, adoption, and engagement
- Ability to thoroughly evaluate the overall market, major competitors, target audiences, and biggest gaps/opportunities to help better position our products
- Excellent balance of conducting qualitative and quantitative research to form a foundation for vision, strategy, and center the team on the “why”
- Excellent, clear, and concise written and verbal communication/presentation skills, including the ability to tell a compelling story about product marketing strategy
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects (e.g. new product/feature launches, push/email creation, market research, etc.) concurrently
- A scrappy self-starter who is able to navigate ambiguity and enjoys working in a fast-paced start-up environment
- Background or understanding of government benefits and policy or fintech a big plus
- Experience working with an engagement marketing platform (e.g. Braze, Leanplum, Iterable, etc.) is a plus
- Background serving our customer segment and/or deep interest in learning about their problems and needs
