GitHub, the home for all developers, is looking for a strategic thinker to join us as a key member of our growing product marketing team. You’ll build the partner marketing program at GitHub by partnering closely with our product, sales and partner teams.

In this role, you’ll bring your experience understanding various partner business models to shape programs and campaigns that support the goals of GitHub and its partners. You will cover partner marketing for GitHub’s entire partner ecosystem including professional service providers, resellers and technology alliance partners. 

Through partnering with our Channel Sales Team and Business Development organization you will define the strategic goals and quarterly OKRs for our partner ecosystems and align efforts to drive key results and outcomes. In addition you will also align with complimentary partner ecosystems to increase program value and scale partner reach and engagement.

As a Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will report to the Head of Cross Functional Product Marketing and you will partner with a diverse set of expert stakeholders across the organization. 

Responsibilities:

Advance GitHub’s joint value with partners in the market:

Increase new logo acquisition and ARR through GitHub and Microsoft Channel Partners

  • Build joint messaging, value propositions and joint marketing plans with partners
  • Build programs to activate channel partner sales around high-value GitHub SKUs including through partner campaigns, MDF, events and incentives
  • Support growth of measurably qualified partner channel through effective readiness offerings and transparent measurement to ensure high quality customer engagements
  • Partner with Microsoft OCP Team to align GitHub initiatives and offerings with appropriate Microsoft programs and priorities
  • Increase value of GitHub partner relationship and expand GitHub reach capacity through expansion of GitHub certified customer offerings focused on services 
  • Establish appropriate breadth partner management engines and accelerate partner momentum to advanced program tiers

Grow community of third party technology partners

  • Increase GitHub messaging delivery through Tier One managed technology partners through focused co-marketing initiatives and campaigns
  • Establish engagement tiers with clearly defined pathway to advancement for partners
  • Measure and adjust programmatic offerings to grow engagement as measured by through partner campaign uptake and integrations with new APIs and services at launch 
  • Support breadth technology partner engagement through scalable co-marketing programs

Build and maintain industry leading partner engagement engine

  • Launch partner recruit site and gated partner engagement portal
  • Measure and grow partner consumption of assets in portal and execution of partner lead campaigns
  • Develop and execute partner communications plan and ensure partner representation across all GitHub lead GTM activities

Requirements: 

  • Proven experience in product marketing, preferably in DevOps or DevSecOps segments
  • 5-8 years of relevant work in technology marketing and software development 
  • Proven experience in program development and partner engagement programs 
  • Deep understanding of partner business models and the ability to build aligned programs to drive partner affinity and business growth
  • Ability to succeed and embody a growth mindset in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail plus the ability to quickly adapt to changing requirements and opportunities
  • Strong familiarity with GitHub: our product and our community

Preferred: 

  • 3+ years of marketing experience in a partner marketing role 
  • Product marketing experience with software collaboration & DevOps platforms

(Colorado only*) Minimum salary of 89,200 to maximum 189,300 + bonus + equity + benefits.
· Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired in Colorado.
