Senior Product Manager - Web Experience

About the role:

Samsara’s Product team works to bring our disruptive IoT technology to market, accelerating the adoption of sensor data to improve industrial efficiency at a massive scale. As a member of the Product team, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end success of new products and features that delight our customers and further Samsara’s vision. Samsara’s approach to product management is rooted in a deep understanding of the customer. You’ll learn about our customers’ operations, identify the most meaningful problems that we could solve for them, and develop a product vision that maximizes the impact Samsara can make on the market.

In this role, you’ll lead Product for our Platform Web Experience team. This team is the overall owner of Samsara’s primary user interface — our cloud dashboard — and is responsible for delivering a best-in-class web-based user experience across all of Samsara’s product lines. This includes:

• Driving consistent user experiences across the dashboard so that all of Samsara’s products feel intuitive and familiar to our customers
• Increasing the quality bar for our core web dashboard experiences, including sign-in, setup / settings, and interactions with core pages
• Launching new features that make the web dashboard a better place to get work done for our customers
• Enabling deeply-interconnected experiences that make Samsara’s products work better together

In this role, you will:

• Articulate our business & customer priorities related to Web Experience, working with engineering to set measurable goals & define a roadmap to deliver on them.
• Collaborate with product line PMs in a ‘platform PM’ capacity to support their initiatives, align priorities, and interlock dependencies
• Partner closely with Design to define standards for great product UX and create reusable components that can be used to build software features across Samsara’s entire product portfolio
• Interface with customers to ensure that we reach the outcomes required for their ultimate success. Define product requirements for user-facing capabilities, and serve as the ‘voice of the customer’ in trade-off discussions & decision-making forums
• Launch new features and infrastructure in collaboration with Design, Engineering and Marketing
• Develop a technical understanding of our product’s systems and work with engineers and stakeholders to identify meaningful improvements
• Contribute to enhance the practice of product management at Samsara to help drive hyper-growth at scale
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

• 6+ years in a product management role, with a deep understanding of how to operate & deliver as a platform team
• Strong understanding of how to build for enterprise-scale
• Experience working in a customer-focused environment and ability to establish trust & credibility with customers. Knack for gleaning customer insights from quantitative and qualitative data
• History of partnering closely with design teams to deliver products with outstanding UX
• Strong credibility with engineers and ability to understand technical systems
• A proven track-record of delivering outstanding results for customers & the business, managing significant complexity & aggressive timelines. You also have a bias-to-action and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty
• Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting to customers, executives, and internal audiences, adjusting your communication style based on your audience

An ideal candidate also has:

• Experience leading a ‘Design System’ for a large software organization
• History of working on successful B2B products
