The Vision Product Team at Standard AI transforms cutting-edge machine learning into real world automation. That machine learning and automation is at the heart of theautonomous checkout experience, and we want you to help make that experience as warm, inclusive, and wonderful as it can be. 

 

To be successful in this role you will have to find a balance between software development and short term optimization of the tool, making the humans in the loop more efficient, and the longer term goals of automating the process altogether. You will also drive the product strategy and partner with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, marketers, and more to build the best experiences for shoppers.

 

This role is fully remote with autonomy and flexibility. We’re looking for someone with deep empathy and compassion who brings a lot of emotional intelligence to their work. You’ll be fully supported by our product and business teams, with rich and meaningful collaboration across the entire organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • The purpose of this role is to deliver the most accurate and timely item location to all downstream users by driving improvements to our camera annotation tool, which is a key enabling technology for our delivery of autonomous checkout

  • You will design and run experiments to create a tool that enables our camera annotators to operate more efficiently & accurately while keeping the long term automation goal in mind

  • You will also balance the optimization of the (HCI) tool with longer term automation goals and charter the path towards full automation

  • As part of the Vision Product team, you will work collaboratively with engineering, UX, marketing and operations to align on the product roadmap and strategy

  • You will build relationships with cross-functional teams across the organization in order to make incremental progress delivering the best autonomous checkout experience to our customers and their shoppers

You have:

  • Experience in one of the following areas: Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Robotics, Autonomous Vehicles

  • Worked on partnerships with external companies to create best-in-class user experiences for their customers

  • A proven history of shipping creative and highly successful tech products with large user bases, and you have been involved in this end-to-end process

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, with 5+ years of relevant professional experience

  • Clear, concise, and thorough written and oral communication skills
