The Team You’ll Work With

Carta is a platform that supports asset creators and asset owners. In addition to tracking and managing what is owned and by whom, these users also need to know the value of these assets for making decisions: A company needs to know the fair market value (FMV) of its common shares to meet its equity compensation and compliance needs. An employee needs to know the FMV of a company’s shares to decide when to exercise options and how much to exercise. LLCs need to be able to construct payout scenarios (waterfalls) to understand who will make money under different conditions. Investors need to value their preferred shares to more accurately track the performance of their portfolio. 

Carta’s Valuations R&D team has made all of these scenarios possible in software. We’ve provided the engine that helps users across the Carta ecosystem leverage valuations information and workflows in powerful and helpful ways. This engine powers some of Carta’s most valuable products across our product suite: 409A (Corporations), ASC 820 (Investor Services), waterfalls (LLCs, Investors, Corporations), etc. Looking ahead, the Valuations engine will be even more critical to continuing to drive product + business success in the areas we’re already in, as well as the areas we have the opportunity to enter.

The Valuations & Analytics team is dedicated to delivering valuable insights to our end user through valuations of their assets and private market data that no one else can provide. We are a team that views data as a first class citizen and believe our data is the key to unlocking success for the future. In this next year we are focused on continuing to deliver a delightful customer experience and delivering more insights to our customer to help them make informed decisions about their stock, performance, and how to improve their current situation. 

The Problems You’ll Solve

As an Senior Product Manager, you will:

• Leverage user research, rapid prototyping, and data insights to identify new revenue opportunities for the Valuations & Analytics business that can be brought into software.
• Manage stakeholders across the 409A, ASC 820, Waterfall, New valuation products, and Benchmarks & Analytics -- which projects should be worked on and why? Which can wait? 
• Own and deliver on a roadmap that expands across Valuations & Analytics product lines
• Communicate product releases and tradeoffs across the Carta org to align stakeholders
• Leverage data to make judicious product decisions that accelerate our software business.

About You

• You have 4+ years of Product owenership
• You have a background in or are at the very least intrigued by finance, valuations, or math.
• You enjoy working collaboratively with others and are excellent at communication.
• You are excited by the opportunity to solve challenging problems that make a difference in the lives of your customers.
