Your Role

As part of the tech team, you drive the company’s product vision forward and create the superior User, Identity & Access Management system and experience on our platforms. It is your responsibility to set the course and define the journey. In particular, in this role you will be responsible for enabling Forto's global expansion, cooperation of multiple internal and external parties on our platforms that would ultimately drive profitability of our growth. With taking ownership of user role & identity as a product, you will enable Forto to build a scalable cooperation toolkit that would function across multiple digital platforms, transportation modes, 10s of countries, 100s if not 1’000s of supply chain hubs.

Based on our product vision and strategy, we develop detailed roadmaps and work with engineering to build what matters most to our customers and internal teams. We speak to external and internal customers regularly to understand their pain points, collect ideas, and gather feedback on our product. We have the ambition to back our decisions with data, are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and measure our success through customer happiness and company growth.


You will

  • Build a deep understanding of our product, user roles and access needs, often including technical details
  • Understand the business, operational and technical needs related to our user roles and determine how to group them and manage access in our organisation to enable cooperations between teams and individuals
  • Develop a strong understanding of our operational, commercial and financial team needs in order to enable and streamline cooperation
  • Build a technology strategy for identity management and be our subject expert on everything related to digital identity management. In the future you will also take leading role in cross functional developments where (internal or external) digital identity plays critical role
  • Support Forto expansion efforts across continents as well as platform expansion to include varying user groups and enable cooperation between distinct internal & external parties in complex international supply chains
  • Develop a  deep knowledge of how our operations and other teams work, their objectives, and Forto's overall strategy
  • Lead requirement gathering efforts, through consulting stakeholders, analyzing relevant data sources, and conducting customer research
  • Develop a product vision, roadmaps, and epics. Determination of corner cases, always while considering user experience and the complexity of a solution
  • Communicate the  product requirements to the engineering team, assisting with open questions during design, implementation, and QA
  • Measure the impact of product and engineering work by implementing and tracking key metrics
  • Juggling competing priorities on a daily basis, finding the right balance between short-term fixes and strategic tasks


What you bring

  • 7+ years of experience working with engineers and building software products.
  • Experience in IAM and/or User roles & permissions (highly preferred)
  • Experience in defining strategies in access levels, product user types and groups in complex ERP-like systems (ideal)
  • Pilot with Diving Hobby: You are able to dive deep into a topic when necessary, while retaining bird-eye view of end-to-end thinking and ownership
  • Fast Learner: You learn quickly and strive to improve every day; you can adapt to a fast-growing organization with constantly changing requirements
  • Passion Driver: You want to work on real-world problems that create an impact in our world; you work hard to build a great product and take ownership of delivering the high-quality user experience
  • Data Geek: You are proficient in utilising data and analytics tools to support your research, analysis and conversations. You don’t shy away from rolling up your sleeves to write a quick query and setting up a small dashboard yourself
  • Structure Hero: Structuring complex requirements in tables, charts, workflows, or formulas comes naturally to you; you have the ambition and skills to simplify even the most complex problems
  • Tech Lover: You Understand complex digital products and don’t shy away from a technical conversation with engineers and customers
  • English language professional fluency, German language fluency is a plus but not required for this role
  • Previous B2B product experience would be beneficial
