Product Management at Deliveroo takes many forms, and involves many facets. We’re a consumer-facing brand, with websites and mobile apps which help customers find great quality food, groceries and retail items which can be brought to them to satisfy their needs any time day or night. We’re a logistics company, directing a fleet of drivers around major cities across the globe using a dedicated native app. We’re a partner to restaurants, grocers and retailers, who see us as a way to unlock access to new customers and thus maximise the revenue of their existing business. And we’re a home for numerous internal teams building internally facing tools for Care, finance, and others, to keep the operation running effectively.

Life as a Product Manager can mean working in any or all of these areas, in order to deliver value to customers, drivers, and partners. Day to day, you’ll tackle new, interesting business problems, and find innovative, creative ways to solve them. We’re seeking brilliant and motivated Product Managers to help us keep moving things forward.

Mission

The User Growth Product team aims to scalably and sustainably grow our customer base, acquiring new customers and re-engaging lapsed customers. We do this through deploying technology to run impactful digital marketing at scale, understanding what promotions resonate best with customers, and creating great post-click experiences for customers entering our platform.

Effective digital marketing and advertising relies on using customer data to conduct CRM and target ads. Legal, regulatory (eg. Information Commissioner's Office) and publisher (eg. Apple, Google, Meta) landscapes are evolving over time, changing how customer data can be used for marketing/advertising and customer expectations are changing with it. So, we must earn customer trust and adopt industry leading privacy safe advertising technologies.

The Role

As a Product Manager in this role, you will lead on our Privacy Technology strategy and execution to achieve our vision in adopting privacy-safe technologies whilst maximising return on investment from our marketing and advertising. This space impacts multiple teams across the business, including Consumer, Ads, Rider and B2B teams who all have similar/overlapping challenges in this space. You will lead a programme of work - coordinating teams across marketing, advertising, legal, privacy, product and engineering - to position Deliveroo’s global marketing and advertising organisations as industry leaders in privacy.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Define and lead on a global x-functional strategy to enhance Deliveroo’s marketing & advertising organisations through thought-leadership and execution against data protection and privacy regulations.
  • Taking the lead from a technical perspective in designing and proposing privacy (and publisher) compliant frameworks that enable execution of Deliveroo’s marketing and advertising strategies
  • Collaborate and coordinate closely with central Legal, Privacy, Data Management and DPO teams
  • Educate marketing and advertising teams on topics related to privacy requirements (eg. consent mechanisms, categorisation and deployment of cookies, new tracking technologies)
  • Define requirements for privacy tech work; work with engineering teams to ensure appropriate understanding of legal landscape to enable delivery of work
  • Propose processes for continual evaluation of legal risks, coordinating with local markets/GMs, legal, engineering teams
  • Be responsible for coordinating with local and central marketing and advertising teams to run ongoing risk management processes to ensure continued compliance with regulatory requirements in all markets
  • Keep up to date with the evolving privacy landscape from a regulatory & technology perspective; synthesising industry trends into actionable insights for stakeholders and directly informing the privacy roadmap

Requirements:

  • A record of defining and building exceptional products that exceed customer expectations and support commercial goals
  • Comfortable managing a broad set of stakeholders with ability to influence across all levels of an organisation
  • Data-driven with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A record of success partnering with engineers, product designers and data scientists to tackle ambiguous problems
  • You have overseen and supported dedicated teams and led product prioritisation, developed roadmaps and been responsible for the delivery of functionality
  • You are highly detail-oriented and thrive in an environment where commercial impact of products is paramount
  • Preferably (not essential), experience in working with marketing, legal and data protection teams
  • Experience working with Consent Management Platforms such as OneTrust [Preference]
  • Experience and awareness of how the Privacy and PET (Privacy Enhancing Technologies) landscape is evolving
