Senior Product Manager, Upwork Labs

Upwork Labs is Upwork’s rapid experimentation and incubation team, focused on 0-to-1 efforts that seek to have a profound impact on our customers and drive a step-change function in our business. Our charter is to create Upwork’s next $100M revenue stream and, to get there, we’re looking to bring on an exceptional, entrepreneurial Senior Product Manager who loves solving customer problems and exploring new ways to not only serve our clients and freelancers but truly delight them. We’re looking for someone who is well-versed in working with a cross-functional team to quickly build new prototypes, fail fast, and iterate. And once a new promising opportunity has been identified, this person will be charged with incubating the idea to achieve product-market fit. The best part? Your Responsibilities:

• Develop a deep understanding of Upwork’s customers, product, business, and competitive landscape to identify new areas for exploration.
• Generate a backlog of ideas that are aligned with the company’s goals and customer needs.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including user researchers, designers, engineers, data scientists, and marketing teams, to rapidly prototype, fail fast, and iterate on new products and features.
• Incubate promising ideas to achieve product-market fit. 
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure that Upwork Labs’ products and initiatives are aligned with the broader company strategy and vision.

What it takes to catch our eye:

• Background in computer science, engineering, business or a related field.
• Deep experience in product management at both early-stage startups and larger tech companies, with a proven track record of launching successful products and features.
• Experience working in a rapid experimentation / incubation environment, with a strong focus on customer-centric product development.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to inform product decisions.
• Experience working with emerging technologies and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools, platforms, and methodologies.
• Entrepreneurial, with a passion for innovation, a willingness to take risks, and the drive to experiment with new ideas.

The annual base salary for this position in California and Washington ranges from $149,000 - $246,000. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.
