Senior Product Manager

Full-timeSenior Product Manager£83,000-£110,000*
Oxford, United Kingdom
Please let Tripadvisor know you found this offer on WeLoveProduct as a way to support us 🫶

Location Oxford (Hybrid) or Iceland Reykjavik

We believe that we are better together, and at Tripadvisor we welcome you for who you are. Our workplace is for everyone, as is our people powered platform. At Tripadvisor, we want you to bring your unique identities, abilities, and experiences, so we can collectively revolutionize travel and together find the good out there.

Who we are:

Bokun, a fast-growing subsidiary of Tripadvisor Inc., is a leading reservation system and marketing platform for tour and activities operators. At Bokun, we move and test at the pace of a startup, but we have the backing of a large, stable, publicly-traded company, so you know we’ll be keeping the lights on. Founded in Iceland in 2012, who we are is as equally important as what we do -- we are an enthusiastic team of professionals (our small but mighty team spans across Iceland, Oxford, and Lithuania) with a bias for action and a passion for testing, learning, innovating, and helping tours and activities operators grow their businesses.

We seek an experienced Senior Product Manager who will immediately help drive impact by working with a cross-functional team in the ideation, technical development, and launch of SAAS and e-commerce products. To be successful in this role you must be at ease in a fast-growing, fast-paced environment. You’ll be an expert at analysing performance metrics. And you must be a capable, proven manager with a willingness to roll up your sleeves.

What does the role look like

You are responsible for driving the strategy behind Bokun’s product offering, supplier platform, and reseller network. You’ll own our product road map and ensure its execution. Your success is based on identifying opportunities for growth in our subscriber base, increasing average revenue per user, and maximising booking commission as well as defining strategies to achieve them.

You’ll track performance meticulously and use system and supplier analytics to influence every decision you make. You are measured by improvements to key funnel conversion metrics and by improvements to overall conversion and top-line sales for focused suppliers, markets, and product categories.

You are responsible for a range of tactical and strategic projects and liaise with technology partners internally (within the wider Tripadvisor Media Group) and externally. As the interface to product management, you are also responsible for identifying enhancements to the user experience through improving key on-platform journeys and feature sets.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive overall product strategy, road maps, and OKRs
  • Analyse sales, system, and supplier engagement data to identify performance issues and opportunities across the entire product portfolio; identify growth opportunities through a forensic use of analytics.
  • Be accountable for the achievement of key user metrics and business goals for on-platform channels; own side strategies to maximise conversion and top-line sales in key markets and product categories.
  • Identify long-term and short-term opportunities to enhance the user experience of the supplier  platform
  • You will lead the product discussions around how to engage and cultivate the relationship we have with our suppliers
  • Partner with our sales team to review and improve existing product offering, including identifying and planning for new product development.
  • Analyse competitive offerings to identify differentiators.
  • Maintain awareness of the travel industry and e-commerce trends and best practices.
  • Develop a strong viewpoint on the value of Bókun to our suppliers and how to increase it through customer-centric product decisions.
  • Lead new product initiatives from cover to cover. This means seeking out unmet user needs, determining how pervasive they are, evaluating technical feasibility, and forecasting the possible benefits.
  • We’ll be looking at you to create roadmaps and backlogs that support multiple threads of work and execute against them.
  • Ruthlessly prioritise what to focus on and when. There are endless ways we can improve our product for all users. The business will rely on you to size and prioritise the opportunities, maximise our ROI in the short and long term, and strike the right balance between short-term wins and longer-term investments.
  • Support and lead product development. As both a contributor and leader, ensure that we’re clearly communicating the problem we’re trying to solve and how we’re measuring our success to key members of the team: management, developers, designers, and other supporting roles.
  • Communicate, communicate, communicate. With dozens of stakeholders (including Engineering and design) and millions of members standing to be impacted by your decisions, you should be able to resolve conflict, communicate transparently and pursue feedback quickly and effectively, as well as remove roadblocks faced by your team.
  • Be critical and never settle. We move quickly and are always looking at the performance of our product to determine what’s “in” or “out” of a feature or release. You should, with grim satisfaction, look forward to communicating what we shouldn’t build.
  • Question the status quo. There’s an abundance of ways we can work smarter, better, and faster as we evolve as a organisation and we’re looking at you to identify them.

What we are looking for?

  • Has 6+ years of Product Management experience, ideally with experience in travel and B2B SaaS products.
  • Experience leveraging analytics and qualitative research to drive product insights
  • Can demonstrate successful execution of a customer-centric product strategy.
  • Ability to capture the voice of the customer and understand the user journey both on and off our platform
  • Uses a combination of metrics, research, and intuition to evaluate opportunities, establish roadmaps and build solutions.
  • Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as Product Management, Engineering, User Research, UX/UI, Sales, Account Management, or Marketing
  • Previous management of a small team
  • A clear understanding of modern product management frameworks to guide strategy, discovery, and delivery and the ability to advocate for those frameworks
  • Ensures that projects are completed in an appropriate and timely manner, acknowledging mistakes, learning from them, and always moving forward productively.
  • Experience in building relationships across multiple internal business units to add reciprocal value for all parties.
  • Must be a great team player that works well in collaborative situations.
  • Exercises good business judgment when making decisions and always considers the relevance/impact of each decision on the business

We strive to create an accessible and inclusive experience for all candidates. If you need a reasonable accommodation during the application or the recruiting process, please make sure to reach out to your individual recruiter or our team at [email protected]
