Grammarly offers a remote-first hybrid working model. Team members can work primarily remotely. Starting in 2022, teams will meet in person every quarter in one of Grammarly’s hubs, currently in San Francisco, Vancouver, New York, and Kyiv. To ensure that teams are able to overlap in their working hours and to meet face-to-face when needed, all team members need to live within three time zones of their direct team.

Grammarly team members who will be collaborating at our San Francisco hub must be based in the United States.

The opportunity

Grammarly empowers people to thrive and connect, whenever and wherever they communicate. Every day, 30 million people and 30,000 teams around the world use our AI-powered writing assistant. All of this begins with our team collaborating in a values-driven and learning-oriented environment.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Senior Product Manager, Students to join our Communication Assistance team. Grammarly’s mission is to improve lives by improving communication, and for students, writing well is critical to their success in school and later in life. Grammarly already helps students achieve academic success, and this role is crucial to improving our product to successfully address specific student needs. By growing adoption among students, the Senior Product Manager, Students will significantly contribute to Grammarly’s overall monetization and usage metrics. More strategically, this role will set us up for future growth as students move into the workplace and bring Grammarly with them.

Your impact

As Senior Product Manager, Students, you’ll be responsible for making Grammarly a must-have product for all students. To achieve this goal, you’ll need to push the product ahead in new and exciting ways. Students are eager adopters of new technology, and many of the advancements you’ll make for students will become core pillars of Grammarly’s main product.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner closely with Marketing and User Research teams to understand student users and the opportunities in the market to help them.
  • Help develop the vision and strategy to best serve our student users.
  • Lead brainstorming, write product specs, and drive execution to create net-new product experiences that combine cutting-edge AI technology with delightful design to help students write better.
  • Work with your own fast-paced team of top-tier engineers and designers as well as coordinate across many other Product teams to deliver great experiences for students.
  • Partner with the Marketing team on go-to-market strategies to drive adoption among student users.
  • Be ultimately responsible for Grammarly’s adoption among student users.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
    • Is highly creative—in order to both imagine the possibilities in harnessing new technology and also humanize this technology into something useful and emotionally resonant.
    • Loves thinking about what makes a sentence beautiful or an email clear and effective.
    • Has developed long-term, complex, cross-functional product plans and rallied cross-functional teams behind a product direction.
    • Has developed sophisticated metrics to measure the effectiveness of complex and innovative features. (How do you measure how an AI system has made a piece of writing clearer?)
    • Is excited to be accountable for significant adoption and monetization goals.
    • Has a solid technical background (a computer science degree or relevant work experience).

Support for you, professionally and personally

    • Professional growth: We hire people we trust, and we give team members autonomy to do their best work. We also support professional development with training, coaching, and regular feedback.
    • A connected team: Grammarly builds a product that helps people connect, and we apply this mindset to our own team. We have a highly collaborative culture supported by our EAGER values. We also take time to celebrate our colleagues and accomplishments with global, local, and team-specific events and programs.
    • Comprehensive benefits: Grammarly offers all team members competitive pay along with a benefits package that includes superior health care. We also offer support to set up a home office, ample and defined time off, gym and recreation stipends, admission discounts, and more.
    • For Colorado-based employment: The salary range for this position is $141,000 – $259,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

    We encourage you to apply

It is expected that this will be a requirement for this role. Qualified candidates in North America who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons or because of a sincerely held religious belief may request a reasonable accommodation to this policy.
