THE CHALLENGE

Over the last decade, we have built a world-class software as a service (SaaS) platform for event organizers, enabling millions of events globally.  In the process, we have touched millions of consumers, helping them get together, explore their interests, and pursue their passions through live experiences. We are looking for an experienced, technical product manager who can help drive our platform as we continue to scale our infrastructure and our team.

THE TEAM

We're a people-focused development organization: the women and men on our team value working together in small teams to solve big problems, supporting an active culture of mentorship and inclusion, and pushing themselves to learn new things daily. Pair programming, regular demos, tech talks, and hackathons are at the core of how we’ve built our team and product. Our technology spans across web, mobile, API, big data, machine learning, search, physical point of sale, and scanning systems.

THE ROLE

As the Product Manager for the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, you will help shape the vision and direction of our infrastructure advancements as we enable more independent teams through improved automation. The Product Manager sits at the center of it all driving the roadmap by leveraging industry standard best practices and internal expertise in order to improve our system reliability and development productivity. Through these improvements, we’ll be able to bring more people together for more live experiences all around the world.

THE SKILL SET

  • Ability to take initiative and produce results with great communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Site Reliability, databases, or website operations
  • Strong technical background and ability to contribute to architectural and infrastructure discussions
  • 5+ years as a technical Product Manager working with and for developers
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent Engineering degree
  • Passion to learn and to mentor others

BONUS POINTS

  • Familiarity with microservices architectures and associated tooling
  • Experience with Amazon cloud technologies including Aurora, RedShift, S3, and Elastic MapReduce
  • Experience managing APIs and back-end systems
  • Speaking/organizing in the community
  • Active Eventbrite user with a passion for live events
